Wow!! I sure didn't expect that halftime score. Hopefully the Tigers can forge another 2nd half comeback and get the win.

I heard there were a lot of free throws shot in the game. Not a big surprise considering one of the officials who was there. He's one of those guys who makes himself the show as a football and basketball official but I'm sure he'll have a game every night the high school tourney games are played at the Convo. He always does. :122248

First of all Congrats to Zanesville on the win, Prati is one heck of a player.

This is the first time I've ever complained about Officials if you want to call them that.

You must be talking about the heavy set guy, he called everything against Ironton as the 8 free throws for Ironton and 29 for Zanesville shows. I thought the Officials at the Chesapeake game was bad but they have nothing on these guys.

You know it's bad when Edens gets a "T" as calm of a guy as he is.

I would like to know from everyone that went to the game what their opinions are of the Officiating for this game, was it bad or was it just my imagination???

You were right, it was really bad. I actually thought they were just bad overall. They would miss alot of calls. I thought the heqavy set guy let his emotions get the best of him a few times.
Post season officiating is all about politics. it always has been and always will be. If ANY of these three guys call games past the sectionals, it is and will be a travesity.

Zanesville and Prati dominated Ironton in the paint tonight. Instead of hitching our pants up a notch tighter like we did against the likes of Chillicothe, Brookhaven, and Portsmouth, we resorted to moping, whining, and bitching. The officiating crew had something to do with our frustration, but we have to find a way to play through that.

BlindWhiteHat - was one or more of this officiating crew part of the crew that whistled Ironton to death in the North Adams district final a couple of years ago, allowing the Green Devils to shoot 52 free throws? The body language of both the Ironton coaches and tonight's crew towards each other reeked of some prior "history" between them.

No I don't think those 3 were involved in that mess....that guy is from Portsmouth..we have a coach with the same last name as his but no relation.....

Also the one ref from last night, if my memory serves me correctly, did the Ironton-North College Hill state Championship game.

Congrats to Zanesville on the win...you guys came ready to play and it showed...

Keep your heads up Tigers....practice hard and get ready for Chilli on Tuesday...hope to make this one if the hubby can get off a little early...

You people fron southern Ohio, that carp about the officials every time your team gets beat, are the laughing stock of the rest of Ohio.

You can throw any word in there that you want and it still comes out the same---COMPLAIN!!!!!!!
Go to your school dictionary and look up the word CARP.

I thought Ironton would win this game and I also thought Portsmouth would beat Logan.......and I was wrong on both counts. The supposedly weaker North division made a big statement tonight.

No you didnt get cheated, you just got outplayed!!!

Who said anything about cheated? I said the officiating was bad. It wasn't like we blew a 14 point lead half way through the 3rd quarter or anything. :122249

Chilli outplayed us...and we didn't play like we had our heads in this one...

but

It is kinda hard for our kids to have their heads in a game that is absolutely poorly called...as earlier mentioned...I think the one official kinda lost his head...calling a technical because he didn't like the body language of a player...when he also went on to say all he did was turn his back on him when he called a foul on him...never heard of body language causing a technical....This guy really needs to re-think being an official...poorly called...and I don't complain much..but these guys as a crew really need to be disciplined or at least not offered any games in the tourney...it was horrendous..not to take anything away from Zanesville...I don't know if Ironton could have won that game if not for the poor officiating...Zanesville's center sure played a good game inside.

Keep your heads up tigers....learn from this...you will get hosed from time to time...just need to learn to walk away from it and play your game...you are good enough to win these games with determination...Go Tigers!!

You cant tell me that the officiation was not bad when a kid gets a technical for encouraging other teamates.

Speaking of Edens. After he fowled he turned to elliot who missed the basket. and said thats o.k. Paco (Elliot) good try, it was a fowl anyway.

The ref did not like it because he turned his back on him.
