Is this week in hoop action gonna get wiped out from the storm's on tuesday and wednesday or can we dig out and save the weekend games....I sure hope but there's alot of ice around now...

According to AEP Ohio the following Ccounties are without
power. Athens (13,657), Meigs (8,317), Morgan (3,350),
Jackson (5,217), Vinton County (3,701), and Gallia County (2,691). This was as of 3:00 PM, Wednesday 1/28.

Looks like Scioto was hit the hardest by those numbers. I know we were out for about 6 hours Weds morning and when it did finally come back on it went off and on a few times before it finally came back on for good.

I believe the forecast is for an Alberta Clipper to come through on Friday......and that it will probably at least bring snow showers......Warren is supposed to play at Portsmouth, but even with 4 lanes most of the way, if it snows, I wouldn't think the game would be played........and it will be difficult to make up, since Portsmouth's last 3 Saturday's are already filled, 2 with makeups.

I'm one of the 17,000 plus in Scioto County without power.......since about 6:30 yesterday.........

Many of the Jackson County residents without power are being told it'll be late Saturday before they get it back....same with my family in Pike County.


But I remember the ice storm in about 2003 that DRILLED Highland and a few surrounding counties......there wasn't much power to be had....but teh Whiteoak/Hillsboro game was played in Hillsboro and let's just say no one had much else to do as you couldn't find a seat or place to stand.

If the roads are OK and the host school has power...let's have em, give us something to do.

I hope Old Man Winter will let us play basketball this weekend, but I'm worried he is not as much of a basketball fan that the rest of us are.

I know of a lot of folks in the Alexander school district don't have electric and AEP said it won't be on until Saturday. The highways may be clear and ok for a bus to travel on, but what about the kids getting to the bus on the back roads? Some roads in our area still are ice covered. I'm not only worried about getting the Friday night games played but the Saturday night games as well.

Yeah I already seen on wsaz where Gallia County Local doesnt have school tomorrow so that looks like South Gallia and River Valley games are both cancelled for tomorrow evening.

No school in Gallipolis City Schools Friday. However, the Blue Devils do not have a game scheduled until Tuesday, Feb. 3, at Ironton.

Old man winter is winning again on Friday. The Teays Valley Christian at South Gallia game has already been canceled since Gallia County Schools are closed on Friday. With the way the secondary roads are not sure when the kids will be back in school and the weather forecast for next week. OUCH!

Teays Valley Christian at South Gallia Boys game will be played Saturday at 4:00 PM before the Girls game with Clay.

friday_nite_fan-the girls game was all ready scheduled for 6:00 PM with Clay. Just trying to get the games in anyway possible. Also it just switches things around a little. The girls usually play before the boys so this time the girls get to play in prime time.
