lets get some thoughts on this game. burg won the first game at minford in january by 1 47-46. i look for this game to be more of the same. i'm takin burg by 10

Minford dominates. Pirates walk their own plank in this one. Big upset, watch out.

Wheelersburg has to played VERY well in this game or they will be in trouble.

Playing smart is a key. So is not giving up excessive foul shots. They can't get outrebounded this time. And the juniors have to score.

Flip of the coin on this one. Too close to call. Would it truly be an upset if an under-achieving Falcon squad beats an over-achieving Pirate squad. I won't be suprised either way in this game. good luck to both.

The key in this game will be wheelersburg's guard play. If Minford extends the court and puts pressure on like Valley did and make it hard to get the ball to Andy Minford will win this game going away. Minford also probably has the best shooter in the SOC n the smith kid. His shots have to be contested everytime down the court. The bottom line is if Wheelersburg's guards don't step up and play they will get beat by good Minford team. I think the last couple of games we have really seen how good Wheelersburg really is.

live4sport has it right. Either way it should be a fun game to watch.

As long as Minford can stop Stegman In the paint(or at least limit him to 15-20 points. )And take control of the boards, I believe Minford can pull off the W!!!!!!!!!

The Falcons have the ability to play with just about anybody. They are more talented than Burg. Will they play with a purpose and win it.....I think they will learn from their poor shot selection that cost them the first game and win this one 50-45.

I'm taking the Falcons 56-49. Smith and Price will have there way with there guards it is just the play of Stegman is the scare.

Minford should win this game. This Burg has not showed progress this year like most pirate teams of the past. Some kids are basketball players and some just play basketball. I think this team is the latter.

minford needs to play till the end . just like in the oakhill game brisker needs to play against steg just like he did against hale. just hope the refs let them play...good luck falcons .. we need to cover thier guards like stink on #@#$....

I know you are kidding , but Minford's lack of composure down the stretch lost them the last game. They should have won that game by 10-12 points, but they were chucking up three's with a little over a minute left in the game when they should have held the ball and won the game at the line.

Burg is in kind of a funk right now (2 losses the last 2 games) and they need to get back to playing good ball. End of the season is not the time to playbad. Hopefully they can get it out of their system, get the win tonight and then that would set up the big showdown with Oak Hill on Tuesday (if both win tonight)

Good luck Pirates. I don't think alot of people figured you to do this well this season and to be tied for the SOC this late in the season is a compliment to the kind of program Burg has. Those boys know how to win.

I heard a few mintues ago that the game is going to be cancelled because of sun shine and warm weather.

I agree with YAbbadabbadoo. Minford should have won easily in the lat 1:47 with a 6 point lead. A lack of poise by Minford and poise by Burg led to the Burg win. Hopefully, Minford has learned something, and wins this game. The talent is about even: however, Stegman dominates Minford in the paint. When I watch Minford, I do not understand the shot selection by some of the players and I do not understand why Sean Smith doesn't shoot more. That is a mystery to me.

The Pirates looked really good tonight on both ends of the floor, but the defense was outstanding on the Falcons as they held them to 29% shooting according to the radio. Fantastic job of taking Sean Smith out of the offense for the Falcons as he didn't score until midway through the 4th quarter and I believe only ended up with 5 points. I think Stegman and Kemper both hit double figures with 14 and 12 respectively. Kemper played a heck of a game tonight with some great baskets, some very key rebounds, and some stellar defense.

Great job boys. Now get ready for Gallia on Saturday.

I thought Wheelersburg played about as well as they could as a team tonight against Minford. The Pirates had balanced scoring with several players stepping up for Coach Barrick and Coach Massie. On the defensive end I thought the intensity and execution was as good as I have seen from them for 4 quarters. Enjoy the win tonight but in the morning at the walkthrough, it will be time to forget about Minford and focus on Gallia Academy. Nice win!
