Re: Nelsonville-York @ Wellston - 2/11
The game was postponed. No new makeup date as of yet.
Wellston City Schools were dismissed two hours early today and all activities at home were called off.
The school buildings have some structural damage and, believe it or not, one of the potential consequences is related to the winds reaching over 55mph in gusts and sustained at 45 mph. Obviously, the wind wreaked havoc today, and the district was not going to take any chances.
There was a report on http://www.wsaz.com tonight which I saw. There is a story in Thursday's Times-Journal.
Let's just hope no more upcoming forecasts have heavy winds, or else other activities when held at Wellston High School will be in jeopardy. Tournament games are taking place there starting next week including Division III sectional finals all day on Saturday, Feb. 21.
