Oak Hill has at least a tie for the league title pretty much locked up. This game could be instrumental for the runner up. Can Valley avenge the earlier loss?

The Tigers in a stretch of tough games as they prepare for tournament action: At Valley Friday then host Huntington on Saturday & Chillicothe next Tuesday before traveling to the Burg next Friday. They are coming off a HUGE win at Vinton County and survived the game last night against Northwest, finding a way to win in the end.
I think if the Tigers come out and play like they did at V.C. they come away with the W. If they play like the did last night it will be a very long night.

I was very impressed with the Tigers @ VC last Sat. Moved the ball well, made the extra pass and created a lot of very good shots. I was sitting there thinking "will these kids miss a shot?". They also did a VERY good job of not turning the ball over (this is typically where VC will beat you). Good luck to Waverly If you guys play like you did on Sat. i see a win by 10 plus!

Valley plays VERY well at home, in fact I think they are undefeated at home this season. I think it will be a good game, Valley wins by 4...

Valley is undefeated at home. Vinton County was also undefeated at home and Waverly was able to knock them off.
Valley will need for Yates and Utley to put up big numbers for them. Waverly needs to have a good game from the point guards with not turning the ball over and somebody whether its Krezter, Lundin, Martin or Roback or a combination to step up with a big game as we have all year. This would be big confidence heading torward sectionals for whoever wins. This is a quality win for either team.

When the two teams played last time at Waverly, I was really concerned about us coming out of the gate quickly (we had not been doing a good job of that in the previous few games)...then the reserve game goes into like 3 OT's and I thought that extra wait might hurt our young squad. They came out and played good perimeter defense, and didn't allow Utley and the freshman to really get going. By the time they did start knocking down a few shots, Waverly had already established their tempo. We have to do a great job on defense early, and hit those boards like we're capable of...like coop said, Valley is very tough to beat anywhere, but especially at home.

bucki4life,
Why do you predict such a large defeat, especially being a Waverly fan? I really don't see Waverly giving up 77 points to Valley. They have been playing solid defense all season. Why the letdown tonight?

I think it will be close for the first three quarters- then it gets out of hand because I am worried about our "O"- you might say that does not explain giving up 77 points and I agree- it is just a hunch.
i just feel after our poor shooting against Northwest that we better get it together quickly on "O"- Everybody can't be cold again- can they?
The 1-3-1 we play is good except that we give up shots in the corner and when we rushed out on the corner against Northwest they just blew right by us. I don't think we can keep up the pace and play man for four strong quarters. I hope i am wrong and guess what -it certianly wouldn't be the first time!

Bucki4life, you're the same poster that said a great season would be 10 wins. Waverly still has the potential to win 3 out of the 4 remaining games. Which translates to a 14-6 record. Not bad for starting only one senior.
