Portsmouth puts its perfect non-conference record of 6-0 on the line as they travel to CHS to take on a good Chesapeake squad. The Trojans also have the opportunity to win 10 games in the regular season for the first time since 2002......and it is the last week of the regular season.......so there is plenty of motivation for the Trojans to play hard and play well.
I have seen Chesapeake twice, and I think to beat the Panthers, the Trojans have to guard sophomore guard Nathan Copley and senior forward Kyle Webb. Trent Saunders is very scrappy on the boards at 6-1........the Panthers prefer to play uptempo and it will be interesting to see if the Trojans press Chesapeake........Portsmouth has been using the press more and more in the last several games.
Should be a very tough test for the Trojans, but with the tournament right around the corner, this is a good game for Portsmouth.......it would be nice to see us get that 10th win that has eluded us since 2002.
GO TROJANS!!!

Tre Underwood has played his way into a lot more playing time lately. The 6-2 sophomore is a warrior on the boards, will hit the deck for loose balls, will challenge an opponent on defense, and has been able to score around the bucket in addition to dishing out some close-in assists. His play is certainly a welcome addition the Trojans depth............
Guys............would love to be there.........but a tournament game with the little one is on tap for tonight at 7:00pm for playmaker......enjoy the food and the game......
hoopscoop: There is tonight's game at Chesapeake, then Warren comes to Portsmouth on Thursday, then there is the Day of Champions on Saturday.......not sure as to who the opponent will be, but it will be a road game.......at Warren, at Marietta, or at Logan..........the SEOAL has a Day of Champions which pits teams in each division against each other in terms of their corresponding place.......for instance, the 3rd place South team plays the 3rd place North team........this year the Day of Champions is at the North school. There is only 1 game at each North school.
The overall league championship is going to be Chillicothe at Zanesville on Saturday.
Hope to see you at the games.........
The sectional at Waverly is next Monday at 5:00 vs. Minford........if the Trojans win that game, then they would play #1 seed North Adams (currently undefeated) the following Friday.......I believe game time for that is 6:00.
I'd say the North Adams folks will keep an eye on this one so they can gauge what they might be up against in the tourney having played the Peake already. Should be a great game.
