Green wins a thriller over the Jeeps in overtime by the score of 61-54.

Green was down by 12 points at one time 37-25 in the 3rd quarter and made a furious comeback to take it to OT and dominated the Jeeps in the extra period, outscoring them 11-4. Great win by the young Bobcats!!

Wes Loot led the Jeeps with 24 points.

Matt Radcliffe led the Bobcats with 27 points.

Green really played well in the 2nd half and O.T. They were able to do what they have struggled to do all year, pound the ball inside EVERY time down to their bigger kids [Ratcliff and Stapleton]. To be fair ,Webster missed A LOT of open shots late that they may make Monday night. Good luck Cats.

Rodehefer like in the 2nd half. pound the ball inside every possesion. tough for Green to do next Monday. Webster looked alot better but didn't make the shots in second half.

Was this game at South Webster? Did South Webster have anybody out for the game? Just trying to place pieces to the puzzle.

Amazing. This is a shocker. Could Webster have overlooked Green?

Dicipline? I heard that the coaches for south webster commited, "I guess i am goin to get the blame for this one. It's the webster ways"? If any body knows can they confirm or reasure the meaning behind this. Because these webster ways didn't come about until he came to town. :?:

I'm not sure what you're trying to say but as I watched the game, I kept trying to figure out what Webster's coaches strategy was. At different points of the game Webster was up by 11, 13 and 10. On each occasion Webster seemed to back off, rather than go for the kill. Granted, They shot horribly, but they just backed off rather than try to finish the Cats off. Green never quit, pounding it inside like they should. Webster took their big man out near the end of the 4th when they needed someone to try to stop the inside threat and never played him in OT. Webster played all guards in the 4th and OT and had no one to contest any inside threat. A 5'2" kid is NOT going to stop a 6'4" post player. I'm glad he did it, but I figure he won't come Monday. Congrats to the Cats for not quitting, they've had their fill of that this season. It was a good win and something to build on in the future.

Well, with a 3-17 season coming up, the Jeeps are what they are at this point. While I got to admit that they were somewhat more competitive this season, last night's game shows that they still got a long way to go. Alot of questions coming up in the offseason...should be interesting at least.*

Green will basically have to stick with the same game plan with Webster. They have to get the ball inside as much and as many times as possible, but can only do that if they hit some outside shots to keep the defense honest and not be able to pack it inside.Clark will need to step his game up offensively and help Stapleton out on the perimeter even though Stapleton can score inside also. They need to stay with their starters as much as possible. They may be able to use Poe some in the post if Ratcliff gets in foul trouble I'm sure you will see a different Webster team Monday

I want to congratulate the Bobcats.
As much as I don't want to see SW lose a game (at 3-17 does 1 loss matter anyway?) the issues Green has had with their players leaving to play at other schools, the coaching issues, the constant threat of the school closing, it's a good story to see them turn their season around so quickly.
Bottom line: the SOC I & II are better with a Green Bobcats sports program! They have too rich of a history to just shut them down. I hope the school continues and the kids can get quality coaching and become competitive as they were when Mike Hughes was there. It's makes the other programs in the area stronger.

I totally agree with your 1st post operator but not so quick to believe your last post. Many want him, many don't. I think we need him but he has been burnt by some in the community before and I doubt he wants to stick his hand back into the fire.
