I would say Villanger of Valley. NO ONE expected Valley to finish 16-4 and 2nd in the SOC. Oak Hill was expected to do what they have done..

Many good candidates this year.
As much as I hate to say it Barrick got way more out of his Pirates than anyone got out of any of their players. I really think teams were better than them, had better athletes then them but somehow they beat you.

Villanger at Valley is another obvious choice.

Oak Hill was expected to go undefeated so I'd say their stumbles against Valley and Minford counts Persin out.

You can say that other team had better basketball players, but to say that any team in the league has better athletes than the Burg is just not right. Look at Tom's players and look at them in other sports. Those kids are very good athletes and are developing as basketball players.

Coach V is coach of the year.

I agree with Crab, Villanger deserves it. Barrick did an outstanding job, as usual, and Norm is Norm. But Valley REALLY impressed me this year. If I had a vote coach V would get it.

The COY and the POY almost always goes to the team that wins the league. So, that being said, I would be surprised if anyone other than Persin was to win it. I do agree though that both Barrick and Villinger desevre the award for the job they did with two teams that weren't expected to win many games this season because of the youth and inexperience on both squads, but I'd be surprised if Persin didn't win it.

Must disagree with you on the POY, Hale or Ondera should finis well ahead Stegmann.

Ozzie,
I'd agree on COY but not POY.
