Dion McKinley and Wayne Evans of Portsmouth, Malik London of Chillicothe, Jake Kretzer of Waverly, and Austin McMaster of Chesapeake are a few that come to mind.
That would make a nice starting five for the SE District.

i would have to throw combs from manchester in consideration..his ability to score in bunches and hit clutch shots makes him a real threat for any team to defend

Jacob Horsley of Sheridan high school should probably be mentioned in this discussion. He has been very successful the past few years.

Eastern Brown's Jordan Payne is a nice player...Manchesters Travis Combs has to be up there...
and Eastern Brown's Chase Lawson may be one of the best players in the district as a junior...Peebles Trent Arey is also a fun player to watch
Whiteoak High School also has a nice junior in Doc Seip

I will take Lawson as the best player in the SHL...He is going to have a big year, and he is already getting a lot bigger looks than combs. Combs however is a really nice player. The SHL has some nice players this year...

Combs is not far and away the best player in the league. He might be #1 but there are multiple guys who are getting college looks/offers.streetballer wrote:combs by long shot for sure

by no means is he a long shot....as I admitted earlier I think it is between Combs and Lawson. Combs is a very nice player, and I love how he competes and he plays harder than anyone on the floor.
Lawson already is getting multiple d-1 looks and offers, and has already had workouts with d1 schools.
He had a great summer on a very good AAU circuit. When it comes to upside I take Lawson over and over again, and he is a junior!!
I also expect big things from Trent Arey who will take on more of a scoring mindset this year. The last two years he hasn't been asked to score due to Seaman, Justice, and Countryman and he has done exactly what his team asked him to do. In junior high he was a scoring machine, I expect him to get back to that and have a whole new outlook.
Tribemaniac your probably know more about the kids from peebles
These are just the opinions and observations I've gathered from a non-bias point of view ....
...............and that my friends, is the ugly truth!!!

I watched McKinley,Evans, London, Kretzer, McMaster, Combs, Chapman, Roseberry all play and think they are all worthy. I never got to watch Lawson, Payne, Arey, Horsley, Hensley so I can't really comment on them.
