GAHS4ever: I have Gallia Academy as an improved team in 2009-2010......GAHS has a couple of starters back........in addition, I thought the Blue Devils' JV squad was one of the better ones in the SEOAL last year.......it should add up to more wins for Coach Osborne this season.........

How many seats are on the visitors side?

See you Jan. 8 and Feb. 12 in that great looking new gym.........

The new gym is set up in three sections of 600 seats for a capacity crowd of 1,800. The visitors side has 600 seats. and the two levels on the home side have 600 seats apiece.

They still gotta put up handrails on the home side bleachers, and they've still got to get the new weight room equipment installed.

They also will install a new scorer's table. A reserve seat section will be behind the first level of seats on the home side. Prices of reserve seats are being discussed by athletic officials.

Understand all three Blue Devil scrimmages will be at home this year, plus the Foundation Game with Oak Hill's boys and girls on Nov. 24.

An alumni game may be held during the Christmas break. Those interested in taking part in the alumni game should contact Coach Jim Osborne at 1-740-446-9284.

The 1,800 seating total does not include a standing room only crowd around the upstairs gym track. If that ever happens, you'll probably be able to get 2,000 fans in the new structure.

That's about right.... Make the tax payers cough up big time $$$$ to build a new gym that will hold 2000 and then turn around and rent the URG gym when we play RV.... Someone needs fired.......Hey Jottings, Where will the new weightroom be located, I don't remember see it during the open house.....

The first River Valley-GAHS game is scheduled in the new GAHS gym, not URG. The second game at River Valley is slated for Rio, but RVHS wants to host the game in its 900-seat gym.

The weight room was supposed to be located under the home bleachers, but that may be a problem since the automatic sprinkling system is located somewhere down there.

I'd say the best place for the weights would be in the large wrestling room.

You'd have to fire the board because most of the decisions are made or approved by the board, not the athletic coaches.

Thanks for the info Jottings.... I never intended or implied that it was a coach that should be fired.... If RV wants to host the game, I say fine & dandy.... Why rent URG when both schools have new gyms????
IMO the weight room should not be in the wrestling Room... The wrestling room was designed to meet the needs of the wrestling program..... Why punish them???? I stated earlier this summer that we did not have a weight Room....WE also do not have locker rooms for the football team... We all know who approved the final plans.. :122249 We have plenty of bells & whistles at our new school, now people are realizing that maybe a little better planning could have been implemented........

bbf...We're not playing at Rio...Even the scrimmages around Thanksgiving will be at the new GAHS gym..Superblue got confused when he saw 4-Ever's schedule.

They still have to add handrails on the home side bleacher steps.

Other schools that RV plays will bring in big crowds..... If the Gym holds 900 as stated, the visitors should be aloted more seats somewhere... Its insane to build a new gym and then go to URG to play a home game....
Agreed????? Jottings, I was not confused, that's what the schedule said.... It was an easy mistake to make & 4ever corrected it..... The only thing that confuses me is why would someone build a new gym and then go to RG to play a home game?????

My question is why did they build it that small. My understanding is SG is the same way.

looks like ga has a nice facility........ county should be ashamed.

cant see how visiting stands can seat 400 if there are only 4 rows of blechers. would be more like 240-260 id guess
