I think Clay will be very solid this year and probably in contention for the SOC title with Eastern...with Symmes Valley as the odds on favorite.

Eastern and Clay both beat Symmes Valley last year, and Symmes Valley have all the returning starters

Clay will be pretty strong with all that they have coming back plus the addition of a couple of players, Delotell(sp) from New Boston and Porter from East. They will have a nice mix of size and speed.

If they can get the big men to hit the boards and give them 10-12 points a night, they could go far. Would love to see them make it to Athens.

It will be interesting to see what adjustments Coach Trainer will make in the upcoming year. It will be his third year at Clay and the best talent he has had since arriving.

so far they are 11 players deep all of whom will see a lott of minutes this year. i could see clay running anything from 3 bigs to 5 guards

We can only hope he found a potion for an inbounds play!

Heard thru the grapevine that Coach T wasn't going to put up with the drama and issues that he did last year. With a deeper bench this might be a fair warning to players that you are replaceable.

Have to agree with my2cents on the drama. Had a player walk out of the sectional tourney game last year in the middle of the 3rd qtr. Some other stuff went on throughout the season also that should have been taken care of at the time it happened.

IMO, if Trainer doesn't win with this group then he is not the coach for the job. They had talent last year, he just didn't know how to utilize it and like my2cents said, work on a inbounds play that you can actually get the ball in on. What they have ran the last two years has been downright awful. Clay has had way to many turnovers the last 2 years just on because they couldn't get the ball inbounds. I have watched Caly play a few games the last few years and I'm just not sold on his offense he runs. He will have the horses this year to run, let's see if he does.

I agree with you yabba his offense is to slow for highschool basketball. This playing one big guy against teams that have kids 6'5 or 6'6 cant happen specailly when you have 2 other big guys sitting the bench. He needs to fix this. Clay has some awesome talent this year and Trainer needs to coach right and Clay will have a really good shot at goin far!

I can tell you that their top two scorers were sophomores last year. Three of the top 4 rebounders were sophomore (the leader was a junior). So this years team will be loaded with Juniors who starte most of last years game, plus the addition of the two new boys will make this years team a very experienced squad. Like yabba said, if they can't win with this group.....................

If trainer can't win with the group that he has this year with the play they have down low and the guard play he has then i dont see him being there much longer

i heard that most of them showed up, except Bussler who was contemplainting on playing. He didnt like Trainer a whole lot. I here now though that he is playing, which is good news for them because he is going to be a good ballplayer.

Heard Bussler worked this summer which took quite a bit of his time away from the basketball courts nothing about his dislike for the coach. Also heard he is playing this year which you are right will be a good thing. Clay should be pretty good this year!
