Valley did lose two solid players in Cunningham and Arbaugh. However, they return two players that can compete as well as anyone else in the SOC in Utley and Yates. Both are capable of going for over 20 any night. I believe that a couple of players who couldn't/didn't play last year are going to play this year that should help with ballhandling and rebounding. They have some nice but young inside players moving up from the JV's that could help, assuming they can adapt to the to the varsity game. I don't know that they would be considered the favorite to win a championship, however, I would think they are capable of beating anyone on a given night.
