trivalleyconference.com web site ... looking for suggestions

Were getting ready to re-design the trivalleyconference.com web site for hoops season ... Any suggestions? Anyone want anything in particular added to the site? I know a lot of the 'main' content was not completed this fall - we sort of left it alone to concentrate on statistics, the leaderboard, standings and what not .... but now with the free time, we plan on really digging and making the web site a fully functional, consistently changing source for TVC information and basketball news ...

Right now, the biggest question is how to design the leaderboard? Football was sort of easy, not keeping all the stats and entering the information, that was a pain in you know what, but the basic statistical lay-out was simple ... you had yards/touchdowns and defense ... but with hoops, there is a waaaaay more stats to obtain. So suggestions on what should be kept and what shouldn't would be nice to hear from those who will be looking at the site ...

i.e. Team offense (scoring) 65 pts per game.
i.e. Individual scoring (Markie Tate) - Belpre - 23.4 pts per game

Do I try and keep assist leaders? Rebounds? Shooting percentage? Free throw percentage? etc..etc..?

I would suggest for both boys and girls, if possible...

Team offense (points per game scored)
Team defense (points per game allowed)
Overall record and conference record.

It would be very hard to keep track of anything else unless the coaching staffs would email the stats to you.

I admire your hard work.

Is there a chance for at least having overall team records for wrestling on the site?

i would suggest scoring leader and maybe rebounds after that it could get kind of hairy.

everyone said the football couldn't be done - but I managed to do it somehow ... lol ...

1st) Most definitly BOYS AND GIRLS records/standings/scores

2nd) girls stats would be much harder to come by, but I plan on writting a lot of blogs on the girls since I cover a lot of their games ... I will try and gather stats and enter them via a blog each week.

3rd) boys - my intention is to gather every stat possible and produce the best leaderboard I can muster .... and yes, its going to take help from coaches OR book keepers ... football don't really have book keepers but basketball does, if I can recruit all the great folks that put in their time in the basketball court keeping score for the teams - I can make this thing happen.

* I will try and get ALL coaches to help, but if I can't I will then move to the score keepers ... I also use newspapers a lot which is an incredible help ... I recieved almost all my Waterford and Belpre stuff through the Marietta times this fall ... I can hope for the same this winter.

So far; the leaderboard is shaping up like this ...

TEAM OFFENSE:

TEAM ... Games - 2 pt FG - 3 pt FG - FT Pts - TOTAL POINTS - Avg PTS PER GAME

i.e.

ATHENS ... 2 (games) - 24 (2pt FG's) - 4 (3pt FG's) - 10 (FT's) - 66 (total pts) - 33 (pts per game)

TEAM OFFENSE: THREE-POINT FG'S

Team .... games - 3 pointers made - 3 pointers per game

TEAM DEFENSE:

Team .... Games - Total Points given up - Avg Pts given up per game

TEAM REBOUNDING:

Team ... Games - Rebounds - Avg Rebounds per game - opponents rebounds - Avg opponents reb. per

* This seems the only way to do rebounds - its an indicator if a team is out-rebounding its opponent or is getting out-rebounded each game.

INDIVIDUAL SCORING:

Name .... games - points - pts per game

INDIVIDUAL REBOUNDING:

Name ... games - rebounds - rebounds per game

INDIVIDUAL ASSISTS:

Name ... games - assists - assist per game

* Im thinking about doing shooting percentages; but haven't decided on it yet.

I tink you shouldput a section for newly added Wahama and Souh Gallia. They are officially in the league and the previews but dont start league play until next season. This would be good for the kids....

I will try and collect JV scores and perhaps add a blog or two about some players during the season.

I will try and get South Gallia/Wahama scores but that's about it for now ... let me attempt to run this thing for the first time for hoops with the just the 13 teams for now .. but i attempt to keep all their scores.

thx for the help and suggestions!

You could slap together a TVC-Top 5 rankings for the web site Pfloyd ... Perhaps once a week or maybe just every other week would be cool.

Perhaps I'll even pay ya at the end of the season with a 'convo' pass - to get you in to all the games this winter.

93 bulldog........I now have the final league standings for all Fall TVC Sports. I think it would be nice to see this information on the TVC Website. I have posted the standings individually to the volleyball, golf, and cross country forums. And of course, you already have the football info.

That site is great, thx!!!

If you know who runs it, please have them e-mail me - I'm gonna find a different technical person to help me to continue building the site and it looks as if they are doing a great job with the SVC web site ... perhaps they can give me some pointers.

FLOYD ... TVC-Top 5 man ... you can do it ... and it won't take nearly the time or energy as the Elite 8.

93Bulldog--Roman Warmke is a great website guy in our area. I think that SportsZone site is too busy. That turned me off right away. Just my opinion.

Dave Richards is the new coach. He will be assisted by Dwight (Kite) Fitch.
