Always a battle in the township! Will Rick stay off the court? Will Huntington drag Piketon into a slugfest? Will Coach Stanley break out the Pimpin Aint Easy Suit? Enquiring Minds want to know!

Lets Go Streaks!

It is always a slugfest at Huntington and this year won’t be any different. The house the Uhrig built is a tough place to play and win for any SVC team so the Streaks will need to bring their A game once again and their defensive intensity to over come the many mystique that playing at Huntington always has. I see the Streak prevailing in a close battle.

Why is it when a team gets upset its never because of the play of the opposition? HHS played great defense and made the big plays when needed . The Piketon faithful cannot even complain about the officials, since at one point in the second half i believe the foul count was HHS 7 PHS 0, and if anyone can explain to me why Southworth for PHS wasnt T'ed up inthe first half I would love to hear it. That young man needs his mouth washed out with soap or something.

Congrats to Huntington. I can't believe this victory...from what you hear out of Piketon the Streaks could take the Celtics....lol.

In all seriousness, Huntington and tUhrig deserves a ton of credit. They have had Piketon's number the last 2 seasons with fewer offensive weapons.

Just got back from Florida and saw the upsets around the area.
Imagine that ,Huntington got Piketon again. Seems the village is awfully quiet today.

Wheelersburg nice comeback also against Northwest. It looks like its wide open in the SE district in D3.

Gonna watch LE and Chilly game.

If the Holiday tourney ends up Piketon v. Waverly that could be the match-up of the year!

No report from Coach Kelley? Must be at a loss for words. Just looks bad that he only talks about the good times!

Most people on here only talk about the good times. The ones talking about the bad times are usually just complaining about how bad their team got screwed over. Sometimes it just best left unsaid.

Wow...Glad to know I am missed :) lol...Some of us work and coach, so that's why I'm just now getting to comment...

I will make no excuses, we lost Friday night to Huntington because we were outcoached, outplayed, and outhustled. We did not lose because of officiating, as some of you suggest we'd say. We got out to a 10 pt. lead and we quit playing, and the Huntsmen started playing. Give Uhrig and company all the credit. We lost to a team who wanted it more Friday night.

With that being said, I like our team, and we'll grow from it, I promise. As for the Streaks playing the Celtics, we believe in this team, and we believe we have all the players to repeat as league champions, district champions, and regional champions again this year, which many schools have not done, so they cannot say the same. Our players believe in each other, and they believe they can play any High school team and be competitive. We have played top schools all over the state during summer and preseason, and we've played well. Friday night, we didn't play well, and we deserved what we got. We are not arrogant; we work hard, and we have high expectations, as we should. It will take some time to get the boys comfortable in their new roles....but we'll get there! We lost two games last year regular season, and it the season didn't turn out too badly...

Can't do anything now, we have moved forward and our focus is now Westfall. We must play Huntington again down the road, and I hope for a different result. Go Redstreaks!

... well said Coach Kelley ... Piketon will be just fine - all of the pieces ARE there - the roles are to be defined more clearly BUT everything is there ... I have seen the Streaks play, Waverly twice, Logan Elm twice, Chillicothe vs LE, Zane Trace, Wheelersburg, will get to see Warren on Wednesday night vs Belpre, and have watched the Peake two times as well ... your Piketon boyz are right there at the top of the list ... as any good coach will say - you must continue to improve, improving means NEVER being satisfied ... Piketon will continue to improve - that's a given imo ... looking forward to seeing the Streaks again down the road from the Cheap Seats ...

17 games to go, plus the tourney. Glad the Streaks stubbed their toes in the third game of the season, and not the 21st. Still some kinks to work out, but they'll be okay.

If there is such a thing, it could be a good loss, just like the Waverly loss to Logan Elm. The Tigers responded positively, I imagine the Streaks will too.

If I have to give a weakness to the streaks, it's mentally. I think the reason Huntington plays them so tough, is they are very physical, and give a couple of hard shots when they get the opportunity. I DIDN'T say dirty. The difference is and I see a pattern, is the Streaks lose they're head every time they play Huntington. Just my opinion and what I see. Talent wise and defensively they are at the top of our district for sure. They just need to toughen up a little mentally and play ball and let they're natural ability's take over. I think they play with that "get even" attitude, and they get caught every time! JMO! Good luck and play ball!!
