I saw that mcbee for burg made a impact, so it made me wonder is there any more talent on jv in the soc 2

The Massie kid for burg is just as good as the mcbee kid. Don't know why he's not getting some p.t.. Only thing I can come up with is that he is the assistant coach's kid and barrick doesn't want to hear it from the parents.

That would be really sad if that was the case. Players should play no matter who they are or what grade there in. What happened to playing to win?

If Massie is as good as McBee......why not move both of them up? I know McBee has made an impact already and by the way things are going for the Burg, up to now, why not build for the future? (Not meant as a slam)

I have a hard time buying the reasoning that a head coach won't move a "deserving" player up because his Dad is the assistant coach. Is a head coach really that worried about what the parents may say?

Well they are both moved up on varsity already. I would believe every word that a coach may be hesitating to play another coaches kid. For instance, this may be the first time this has ever happened to Barrick and who knows how people would react, but, I can not remember te last time any coach from Wheelersburg of any sport cared what parents thought. I'm sure the typical "He is only playing because his dad is a coach," statement would come out. If the kid has proved himself, who cares. I agree with jeepmadness, that is the only excuse I can think of.

If the kid is as good as advertised, I would hate it for him if he was being held back because his Dad is the assistant. Maybe there is more to it. I am happy for McBee though and wish him a successful career as a Pirate, would have liked to seen him play where his Dad laced up his shoes.

I dont think Barrick has a problem playing who he feels will help the team win and is ready to play..I take nothing away from either freshman McBee or Massie.. they are BOTH going to be outstanding players in this league for a while..I dont think Barrick could give hoot what people thought or said about him for who he decides to play..

All I have to say is I hope Burg's season turns around and start winning! I wasn't trying to take anything away from Barrick, I know he knows what he's doing. Just heard that statement and that was JMO. GO BURG!
