Dangerous game here in my opinion. The Tigers need to make sure that they don't have a let down after the BIG win over Piketon. However, my gut tells me that Coach Robertson and staff will have the TIGERS ready to fire on all cylinders. If this happens the TIGERS should win by 12-15 points. JMO......

The Waverly Holiday Classic champions will flex their muscles in conference play and come away with another victory. The Tigers have too many athletes for Minford to compete with and the only way the Tigers lose this game is if they beat themselves.

This will be one of the few games that Waverly plays all year where they are not more "athletic" than their opponent. Waverly has better basketball players...not athletes. Minford is a dangerous team. Waverly will lose if they overlook the Falcons.

That is indeed rare, Waverly not being the more "athletic" team. I have not seen the Falcons play this year. Who do that have that is more athletic?

Tigers...Minford is loaded with very quick, strong, athletic kids (many great athletes from the football team). By athlete, I mean can they run, jump, etc.... Minford has many players that fit the "athlete" mold. Sloan is very good (back from the footbal team). McNight in the middle is very strong, quick, and can jump out of the gym. Cogle is a good player. From memory, I don't remember all the player names. I am simply stating that Kretzer is a great athlete/basketball player...Martin is good athlete/basketball player....Roback is a great athlete/ok basketball player. Minford does not have a Kretzer or Martin....but they have an entire team of fast/strong kids that are similar to Roback. Hope that helps explain my post.

Waverly should win the game, but they will not outmuscle the falcons. In fact, Remy and company will probably struggle in this one.

Roback all state football, Martin has been all district in baseball basketball and soccer and is on par to be the all time leading scorer for Waverly in basketball, Kretzer is ranked #4 in the state as a basketball player for the graduating class of 2012 and the scrawny Remy kid has been all district three years in soccer. That leaves Sammy, who might be the best point guard in the league. Waverly might get upset but it won't be because of being inferior athletes.

I said this would be one of the few games when Waverly is not "more" athletic.......or athleticism may actually be a draw...so if I need to spell it out for you if we line all of the Minford squad up and time their 40....and then measure their vertical....then measure their bench and squat....I am saying that in evaluating an "athlete"...not a basketball player....Minford can hand with anyone on athleticism. Waverly will likely beat Minford because they are better basketball players....not better athletes as a whole(sure Kretzer, Martin, and Roback are verygood athletes). I think my credibility is just fine because I understand the definition of an athlete

Playing at Minford and winning has proven to be a very difficult and challenging task for Waverly. I can't remember the last time we came away with a convincing win in Falcon land and we've suffered our fair share of losses on their court.

If Waverly comes out flat or losses focus they'll come away with a loss. A true test of a good team is being able to get up for each game and play well after a big win.

I am going to pick the Tigers in this one .. Tigers are going to come out with some tough defense once again and take the "W". I think it will be close at the half with the Tigers leading by 5. Then the Tigers will pull away in the third.
