I look for Southern to be in control the whole game, but run up a huge lead.

I'm going out on a limb and picking Meigs in this one.

Oddly, Southern struggled in this one, but won, 59? to 46.

Southern couldn't hit a barn with a shotgun from the inside. I never saw them so cold, missing easy shots. Better step it up a notch. Maybe a long layoff from playing?

I listened to part of this. Sounds like a competitve game that pulled away at the end, like the Marauders could not get over the hump. The 3 at the end of the first half was a big bucket for the Tornadoes.

Cannot wait for the big showdown with Eastern...

if Southern doesn't play any better with Eastern than they did w/Meigs, it'll be ugly.

I have now seen Southern and Eastern both play within one night of each other, and fans of both teams saying their shooting was ice cold on those nights. With that information plus what I saw from both, I really do not think the Eastern/Southern game will be very competitive. Southern threw the ball away several times with just a little bit of pressure applied by Meigs. Eastern's pressure and speed will be too much for them. Meigs could have had more success against Southern's 1-3-1 trap defense with quicker ball movement and getting it to the low post. They did this some and it is actually what kept them in the game in my opinion. That and several offensive rebounds and 2nd and 3rd attempts. The way Eastern moves the ball and utilizes post play, and gets after rebounds, will all be way too much for Southern. Just my opinion.

I think it will come down to what team is hot on that night...Ive watched both teams play multiple times and each time they play Ive seen a different type of play. It all depends on what teams show up to play. My heart is with Southern, but it could go either way.

Everytime I have seen Eastern play it has been the same type of game. They get after it on defense the whole game, they get the ball into the post and score just about every time, they shoot the ball well from three(with exception of Athens). I have also watched Southern play and I don't see the same defensive intensity that I saw a year ago. They do shoot the ball well but I haven't seen them shoot with any type of pressure on them.
