Division II Southeastern sectional

Still a little over two weeks away from seeding. How does everyone think it'll go?

My prediction:

1. Washington Court House
2. Waverly
3. Chillicothe
4. Hillsboro
5. Greenfield
6. Jackson
7. Unioto
8. Miami Trace
9. Circleville

My biggest question is 3/4 and how Hillsboro and Chillicothe are treated. Both are around .500. Chillicothe has played a tough schedule and Hillsboro had to forfeit three wins.

You think Waverly at 10-3, with their only losses to Logan Elm, Oak Hill (by 2 at Oak Hill) & South Webster (without Martin - leading scorer) gets the 2 instead of the 1?

What has Washington Court House done to deserve #1 over Waverly? I don't know so please list their results.

^ I'm going more on record, which is how these things seem to be done traditionally. I've seen Waverly and they have a nice team.

I agree WCH, which is 13-1, hasn't played the strongest of schedules.

Hillsboro had to forfeit that win due to playing an ineligible player. Hillsboro is 8-7 but had to forfeit three times. That's why I think they are interesting with Chillicothe in the 3/4 seed debate.

If my Cavs don't get it together soon this might be their shortest season the last 3 years. The Cavs are going to have to bring their game to Southeastern to make it back to Athens!

WCH has one thing going for them......4 teams from their league make up the 9 teams

Jackson can assist Chilly in getting a #2 or #3.....but will need the favor returned to get a #5.

Hillsboro is definately dangerous with some great talent, Greenfield is coming on it seems and Chilly has a very high ceiling. WCH is a high seeded sleeper around here with a longtime coach and very good talent.

Jackson playing poorly vs Gallipolis and Marietta will kill them in trying to get higher.

^ I imagine the SCOL schools would outvote Chilli and Jackson and give Greenfield the No. 5 seed.

IMO the other teams will try to match up Chilli and Waverly. Those are the best two teams IMO and if they don't face each other they will make it out. C.H. and Hillsboro would be the next best if one or both of them should fall.

Waverly only plays two division 2 teams. Lost to LE first game of year and won't play Chilli until after the draw. I'm afraid the other leagues won't respect them because they are now the only D2 in the SOC. They have increased the difficulty of their schedule by adding LE and Chesapeake along with Chilli. The SEOAL and the SOC2 IMO are the most competitive conferences top to bottom in SE district. Whoever gets the #2 seed will probably be looking at LE in the first round of districts.

1. Washington Court House
2. Chillicothe
3. Hillsboro
4. Waverly
5. Greenfield
6. Jackson
7. Unioto
8. Miami Trace
9. Circleville

my predictions based on conferences and the fact people will vote chilliy on their past and potential. Plus Waverly will lose a little respect because of their leagues lack of d2 schools. They beat Oak Hill and Chillicothe might move them up to 1 or 2 can deny those wins.... We shall see how the votes go (state has to find a better way to do this process)

I think Waverly would be fine with 4. Doesn't 4 and 1 meet in the sectional final? So, if you're 4 or 1 it doesn't matter.

Courthouse does appear to have a pretty weak schedule. If Waverly can knock off Oak Hill, I think they may just get the #1 (Chilli and Hillsboro may have worse record, but you could argue stiffer comp.)

doesn't matter.....the league with the best representation can often set thnigs up as they want it

Waverly is in everyone else's hands.

You gotta beat someone sometime in the tourney.

Isn't politics wonderful when you're dealing with high school kids? Coaches be men and vote your conscious.

Three points...

1) Don't overlook Washington Court House as a #1 Seed. They are a veteran team and will be able to make some noise. I saw them multiple times over the summer and in scrimmages and come away impressed.

2) Chilly will take any Seed. Does not matter as we still have to win games. Come tourney time we have played good to excellent competition all year.

3) Just remember the Southeast Region also gets back a school out of Columbus District. That means the East District gets 1 school to Regionals, the Southeast will get two and Columbus 1. The Regional will be real competitive with the likes of Columbus DeSales and Columbus Beechcroft, etc. The Southeast District will be a handful with any number of teams that make it out. I am not sure there is an odds on favorite out of the Southeastern Sectional and probably only Logan Elm out of the other.

GO CAVS!!!

^ Actually the SE only gets one team to regional. East gets two and Central one. There will be some solid ball in the Convo this district tournament especially.

Washington Court House should go to the convo.
