I think Green and Symmes Valley both have better SOC records than Clay. If Clay can win there last three SOC games they might have a shot at second.

I think time has proven that it was an upset the first time Clay beat Green because Green is in second place in the conference? Now, with Green having a much better record than Clay, IMHO it would still be an upset if Clay wins.
I will be pulling for the Panthers!

Clay won by 12 or 14. I think it was 76-62 or something like that. This was no upset, Clay was the better team both times they played. Clay looked much better than in the first meeting, guard play and defense was the difference in this game.

Basketball is a game of match-ups. Clay had Green's number this season. Congrats to the Panthers.

Congratulations to Clay boys! Delotell was the hot player tonight.
This was senior night for Clay and the three seniors got to end their HS career at Home on a high note . 3 solid players with a great future of ahead them. It is sad to see them go but then time has a way of marching on. I think this victory for Clay may have tied them for second in the SOC, but I am not sure. Does anyone know?
Good Luck with Valley tomorrow night!

CLAY 17 26 13 21 FINAL 77
GREEN 14 20 18 12 FINAL 64
Clay never trailed in this game but it was a game of runs and was closer than the final shows. First quarter had ties at 4-4, 6-6, 9-9 and 14-14 before Cody Bussler hit a three at the buzzer for 17-14 lead. Green never tied it up again after that. Clay took a 43-34 lead in a halftime and came out after halftime with 2 quick buckets for a 37-34 lead, their biggest of the night, but then committed several turnovers and the threes they were hitting earlier suddenly disappeared and they missed 4 in a row allowing Green to pull back to 47-45 before they finally scored again. Green got as close as 51-50, but couldn't never get the game tied or take the lead. Clay pulled away in the fourth, outscoring Green 21 - 12.
Clay scorers for the night.
DELOTELL 24 (he was unstoppable driving into the lane)
BUSSLER 15
BURCHETTE 14
VALENTINE 10
LAWSON 6
PORTER 4
GRAHAM 2
CASEMAN 2
Clay kept their TO's down and hit their foul shots. Nice tune up for tournament week. With 4 games next week, it's going to be tough going into next week healthy and rested. Valentine hobbled out tonight on a bad knee that he hurt in the first quarter and Burchette went hard into the wall on his shoulder. Everyone needs to be stay healthy for a good tourney run, and with 2 more SOC games Clay is still in the running for second place in the SOC.
