When was the last time a SOC I team did that?

Congrats to the Eagles and Coach Fitch! You have joined a short list of Eastern teams that have achieved this great accomplishment of going undefeated in the league.

As mentioned on another thread, I also think the last time the Eagles went undefeated in league action was in 88-89.

yep, it was 1989 and it will most likely end the same way.....with a loss to Racine Southern!

I think all of us are hoping for a Southern/Eastern Pike sectional final. You have the Caldwell vs. his old school which will add to the drama. You seem aweful confident in Southern Popcorn. I think you may get disappointed!

I still remember when king, alley and the rest of the boys brought their 21-0 record to the convo and went home with their tails between their legs back in 89. different year, same result.

One small correction...It was 88...It was my senior year & we lost to Racine in the district championship. We went in 23-0. Funny thing is that a very good guard for racine that season was coach Caldwell.
In 89 Eastern lost to Columbus Wherle @ the convo. I believe it was the 1st game of the regionals.

Those were some great teams for Eastern. I was in grade school and looked at those players as my heros. I had to sit on the floor of the stage or around the sidelines in the old gym. Always a packed house even away games.
