With the places now pretty firm how many picks does each team have and who would be yours from each team. Can Add POY and COY..
I would say COY would have to be Athens Coach Skinner.

After watching last nights game between Eastern and Federal Hocking, there is no doubt that Eastern could have 8 POY!! Well after watching the all year, this team plays offense and defense. I've watched other players and yes they can shoot the lights out but there is NO ONE that can play defense like this team. They get better every game. And they dont care who scores.....WOW is all I can say about this group of young men. Good Luck in the tournaments!!

Coach Skinner gets C.O.Y. in the Ohio.
P.O.Y. in the Ohio I think should go to Valentour from Athens.

P.O.Y. in the Hocking.... I would go with the Guthrie boy from Trimble but I didn't get a chance to see a lot of the Hocking teams this year.

Trimble was the only team VC played from the Hocking this year...and Guthrie was very good in that game.

Skinner will win COY hands down.

Had VC beaten Athens in Athens, I think there wouldve been a split with Combs getting a share...4 titles in a row wouldve been something else!

The great thing about steaks are that you can always start them over.

I didn't know the league meeting was today. Of cousre the TVC has a knack of not telling us when the league meetings are.

Valentour will most likely get POY in TVC Ohio.

I would say for NY All league players would have to be Micheal Mitchell and Daniel Kline. If they get two.

I really dont see why Guthrie should get Player of the Year. He is no where near the best player in the hocking

Guthrie is the best player in the Hocking. Hands down. Can score and can block shots and play defense. Back to back 28 point games should have solved this issue and he out dueled Thompson on Friday night.

The TVC has a very annoying practice of not releasing their all-conference teams until all teams have been eliminated from tournament competition. This often results in the teams being released long after the regular season has ended. It is a ridiculous policy that should be changed. Fans want news when it is actually news.

Football All-TVC teams have always been released long after all other leagues have released their selectees. Several FB TVC teams have been released by the Athens Messenger in December, with the worst I ever came across being December 27, 1998.
THAT'S TWO DAYS AFTER CHRISTMAS!!!

In basketball, the TVC All-Conference teams in the 1999-00 and the 2000-01 seasons were not reported by the Athens Messenger AT ALL. If I am mistaken, hopefully someone at the Messenger will let me know that I am wrong. I searched the Messenger microfilm at Ohio University through April 16 in 2000 and through April 10 in 2001. Not a single entry for the All-TVC teams those two seasons. The sports editor should hang his head in shame.

So, unless the conference officials have changed their policy, don't look for the official release until after all TVC teams have been eliminated from the tourney.

Pardon me for my rants, but this is really a sore point with me and it has always been so since they started doing this.

I'm not sure how many picks VC will get (three for 2nd place I think), but two of them have to be Andy Grillo and Dylan Guthrie.

As teams are knocked out of the tournament the results slowly get released by parents or after banquets are done. Normally you will hear most of them before the end of all the teams tournament run.

Guthrie might be the second best player in the TV Hocking and that is debatable. The folks at Eastern and Southern could make a couple valid arguments for who is second best. Guthrie is most likely a year away from POY.

As I said in the POY thread, Tyler Thompson is unquestionably the best basketball player in the TVC Hocking. Anyone who watched the game in Trimble on Friday witnessed Thompson win the game for the Lancers. Only to have Glouster's finest officials take it away.

If I was an Athens guy, as your screen name suggests, I'd be much more concerned about how my TVC Ohio Champion Bulldogs are going to perform in the tournament when they are forced to play teams of equal size in enrollment. We all saw how that strength of schedule thing worked out on the grid iron.

Why do you have to throw stones like that. He gave an opinion that wasn't the Bulldogs opinion. It was his. Some people just like to stir up crap.

In this case, it's mostly a reaction to athens78's obvious ax to grind with the Fed Hock program.
