Final was Oaks 44 - 36
this thread will stay up, IF, we talk about the game, and not get back into the bashing of kids and coaches.

All I can say about this one is BOTH teams played physical. If anyone were to be at fault for the way the game was played it was not a member of either team, it was the representatives of the OHSAA who wore the stripes and carried the whistles. They should be ashamed at how they let BOTH teams play. If this video were to get to the officials with the OHSAA, IMO they would be severely upset with the guys they had representing them last night. With the tourney coming up and both of these great teams set for a long run, they are both lucky they are not starting short a couple of players weather it be to injury or ejections. Very poorly officiated game both ways.
Best of luck in the tournament to ALL SOC II teams!!

The referees set the tone early by letting the kids play the way they did, these guys had no clue this was going to be a battle. If they had, this gamed would have been called tighter from the opening whistle. Which probably would have meant that the starters for both teams would have fouled out. However, what an intense game and atmosphere, a great game to get both teams ready for the tourny. Good luck to all SOC 1 and 2 teams, represent the league well!!!

Very, very intense game that got out of hand. Two of the officials had a difficult time with the JV game if that tells you anything. I was shocked when they came back out to officiate the varsity game.
Waverly finally showed they can play without Martin as they stood toe to toe with the Mighty Oaks. It was 3 point game with 3:00 to play but the Tigers couldn't get any closer.
Hopefully Martin will be back for tourny game on Tuesday but if he's not able to go these guys now know they can do it without him. Get well Harrison and we'll see you on the court Tuesday.

I was told that the refs felt like they called it a little tight! And I am not joking!

eagles73,
It's not a matter if they called it tight or loose, they let stuff happen that was uncalled for.
Waverly shot 6 foul shots and Oak Hill shot 4 in the 1st half. Does that sound tight to you? That is when most of the "dirty play" took place.
Waverly shot 3 fouls shots in the 2nd half - now that is calling it tight!
Oak Hill shot 4 foul shots in the 3rd period and 11 in the 4th.
