6:15 Athens vs. Gallia
8:00 Warren vs. Fairfield Union
It is hard to believe that it is already tournament time!
I think both games have the potential to be very good basketball games.
Game 1
Athens vs. Gallia
I'm excited to see Athens play. I know Coach Skinner has done an excellent job this year and this team is vastly improved.
Game 2
Warren vs. Fairfield Union
Warren is currently playing at a very high level and the return of Cunningham makes them even better. Fairfield Union has been shooting the basketball better of late and played very well against Teays Valley and Logan Elm this past weeked. I look for this to be a very physical basketball game.

The Vinton County vs Sheridan game should be a good one. However, with Crane out for the Generals it is going to be tough to over-come against a quality opponent like VC. Crane was the leading scorer and the ONLY outside threat. Now the Generals are going to have to rely on the post only. I would be shocked to see Sheridan attempt more than 2 three pointers in a game now. They have the Horsley kid and several other great athletes. Horsley has been scoring 20-28 a game for the last 4. He is tough to stop from around the foul line area. This game is Weds I believe? Anyways, should be a good one!

For Athens the radio station covering could be any of the 3 -- 970 WATH am, 105.5 fm, or 107.7 fm. One of those will be there I am pretty certain.

I have a feeling Crane will try to go for Sheridan tomorrow. He may not be 100% but he'll probably try to play.

I thought the Athens/Gallia game would be a great tactical game and was looking forward to what the veteran coach Oz had in store. But:
Gallia... 5 4 4 10 -- 23
Athens 7 16 15 10 -- 48
One of the games I saw this season, Gallia at Marietta demonstrated some incredible ineptness on the part of both teams as far as poor shooting and turnovers. Both of those two teams didn't have as bad a turnover performance in the tourney as they progressed during the season and in their tourney games, but both were still plagued with very poor shooting. The Marietta Times showed Marietta was 11/55 for 20% in their game last night, and I'll bet Athens wasn't much different tonight, for sure thru the first 26+ minutes as they only had 5 FG during the game thru that point. So due to the poor shooting, the tactical part ended up being a moot point.
