For those of you who thought the FH Lancers were ready to role over and play dead, surprise! They put on another 4th quarter dog fight and came out on top of this one 77-69. They were down 15 points at one time in the 3rd and made a dramatic comeback to race away with this game at the end.

This one's for you Athens 78! Fed's only regret this year is they didn't get a crack at Athens in DC McInturf. You would have known you were in a game. Let's see, believe the last time an FH - Athens Basketball meeting took place might have been at the county holiday tournament a few years ago and FH walked away with a 20+ something win over the mighty Bulldogs.

Tyler Thompson led this team last night to their ultimate team performance, lot's of good support and good minutes from the bench from Saylor, McPherson and Sharp! McCune was hot with the feeds from Thompson!

Hoping to see this kind of play in the tourney which will take the Lancers to the Convo IF they play this kind of team basketball!

As does FH. Their 2 best games of the regular season were against Belpre.

If the other 4 Fed Hock players continue to give Thompson this kind of support, the Lancers are capable of hanging with anyone in this district.

In my times watching Belpre they are a little slack on defense and if you let FH get going shooting 3's they will burn you. Can tell you they don't play defense against Fairland the season will be over!!

When the Lancers are firing on all cylinders, they are a very good basketball team. If they stand around and watch Tyler Thompson work his magic, they could be in for a very short tournament run - after taking care of Nelsonville (where is York???)......

Congrads to the Lancers on a nice win. The boys put it together
in the 4th qt. playing good D and rebounding. Every body started stepping up tonight.
Great game by Brendon 22pts. He was on, also Chris
Saylor and Evan their rebounds were big. Rex, McPherson, and Parsons cutting to
the hole and scoring. Dewayne Clark great D and going to the hoop.
also some big shots from outside. Some nice passing also from Thompson.
Belpre has as much talent as anybody in the TVC and are a very nice team,
good luck to them in the tour. and hopefully we can send 3 teams from the TVC to the Convo.
Now for the Lancers, lets get ready for Nelsonville Saturday.

Geez, Athens 78 does not represent all Athens fans. Wish you could have had a shot at athens huh? Blah blah blah blah blah. If we beat you you would just have said we should, if you competed with us you would talk about how great you are. Probably the real truth is everybody thought we would be a cakewalk, and now that it hasnt turned out that way wah wah wah wah wah!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It would have been nice Spartan to see a FH/Athens Match-up. I can only remember on BB game between the 2 schools and it is the one I was referring too. Good luck to Athens in the tourney.

Just can't help but say when Athens has 363 boys (check out OHSAA site) and the rest of the Tri-Valley is not close in size (believe the next one is Vinton County with 296 or so) everyone is not over impressed.

In Warren you will be playing a school your size so it will be a good test for the Bulldogs and here's hoping they do well. As for Athens 78.........he obviously has issues with FH for whatever reason. Maybe it's time he grew up!

FH has 138 boys, so for their size they bring alot of fight to the arena!

Therefore, OF COURSE the U.S. should beat the Canadians in Olympic Hockey, I am not impressed with their recent victory.

The U.S. should not feel any sense of accomplishment over any medals won, because they are so much bigger than their opponents. Unless they beat the Chinese or India in any team event, it is meaningless.

Bring on the Chinese and Indian hockey teams!! Who gives a crap about beating the small countries like Canada, Finland or Sweeden!.

You're either showing your youth or lack of knowledge hear Winston. A comparison like this is Apples to Oranges. In that case let's through out all divisions in all sports all over Ohio. Comparing a national hockey to team to high school sports is really a good laugh! Nice job covering Athens back.
