valley has a very good group of athletes in the upcoming freshmen class. they have played alot of basketball in the past 3 years and have been well coached. they play good defense and are unselfish with the ball and are court savvy so valley should be okay for a little while with the talented and athletic sophomores and juniors to be in all sports.

I think Valley will take some lumps next year. They have Yates, but really need to develop a second scorer. There are some other kids in next years junior class that could step up and fill the voids if they work at it this summer. Valley will not get much help from next year's senior or sophmore classes. Not really any basketball players in those classes who play. They have a very talented class of freshman next year, but they are freshman and who knows how much they will be able to physically contribute at the Varsity level next year. Some of them are probably going to have to though. I say Valley will be pretty strong in 2 years, but next year will probably be doing well to win more than they lose.

I agree eaglegrad. Only one candidate to step up and become a scorer. He spent most of this past season in foul trouble. Yates will see many double teams with a help defender in the paint. Could be tough sledding through what should be a very competitive league.

Other than Waverly (Martin and Kretzer), who else will have more to work with in the league? Yates is an excellent player and I believe will be more than enough to have Valley in the mix of things IMHO.
