Viked Man,
Are you going to apply? I'd hate to think about you leaving our district, but you are certainly qualified to do the job down there if you choose to do so. Good luck!

Yes. Some parents of players have asked me. I would like to think the way kids feel about me I could develop an interest in the ladies to play.
I did apply, but wthdrew my interest due to certain circumstances . My choice.
I have the greatest faith in the administration to hire the best person for the job.
I assumed Coach Derrow would still be at Wellston, but I don't think they have to but the job on OHSAA.
If that were the case every school would have to advertise every year.

Doesnt have to be on OHSAA for the job to be open, it is a state law, I am sure it is not truly enforced the way it is suppose to be but most schools just keep it as a quiet matter.

Yeah, that is what I thought.
It has to run through the school for a period 3days if school is in session and 5 days if school is out (I think that's correct) before they go outside the rank and file of faculty members.
This led me to believe at one point that Coach Derrow may be stepping down.
I am one Viking guy that likes and respects Coach Derrow, he and his mother were great friends to my mom's brother, Bug, who was in a wheelchair his entire life after he was shot with an "empty" gun. He sat on the elevated section of the Derrow Dome, and is burried in a Wellston Rocket warm up.
Also I student taught at Wellston and Coach Derrow, Rick Purdue, and Coach Pat Hendershott were always so helpful and kind to me.
I only wish the best for Coach Jim Derrow!

Coach Derrow will be coaching at Wellston next season. Contract issue or lack of communication is the only reason why the job was posted. Its his job if he wants it.

Wellston with Derrow will be lucky to win 5 games next year.

Disregard his complete career, he would outcoach you with 5 blind kids.

The only way they wind 5 games as if they are playing some Christian schools and some West Virginia small schools.

Wellston needs to make major changes in their sports programs. They will continue to lose good athletes if they don't.

Derrow has beaten Jackson, and most other schools that they play more than any other coach in Wellston history. Players leaving? Derrow always gets blamed for bringing them in, this is a change. Finally, Meigs is not in W.Va or a Christian school(2) wins not "winds" as Downtown calls them - he sounds real intelligent.
Love him or hate him - the Rockets will be better next season and he will be stalking the sidelines. I agree with the statement of beating you with 5 blind kids. Maybe thats why they have had trouble shooting over the last couple of seasons, maybe they need an eye exam(HA!)
