Peebles native and current Mason County Royals star Treg Setty recently made a verbal commitment to the University of Southern Illinois. Treg has been offered by SI, Ohio University, and Miami(OH) University and has received strong interest from Vanderbilt, Xavier, Oklahoma St., and the University of Notre Dame. I wish you the best of luck at the next level Treg......even though you insist on playing your senior season south of the border . This has been a bright spring for the Peebles Indian faithful as a bundle of hometown kids have been invited to continue their careers at the next level; including Emily Hoop(Shawnee State-NAIA), Treg Setty (Southern Illinois-NCAA D-1), Blake Justice (Akron-NCAA D-1), and Andrew Seaman(Not certain where just yet, potentially Wooster-NCAA D-3)

We support our own...no matter where they happen to play their senior season. This is a major accomplishment and, as such, deserves to be recognized. Congrats and good luck Treg.

He doesn't "'insists" on playing in Kentucky. His family moved to Maysville when he was young. He has always went to Mason County Schools. People of Peebles and Adams County are always proud of "family" members who excel.

You couldn't ask for a better kid than Treg Setty! A well deserved accomplishment for a very hard working and classy young man!

Been friends with his family for awhile now and I know they are thrilled for him. theassassin, as Maniac and socfan said, he has a lot of family and friends in the Peebles area and I am sure everyone is glad this news is on here so they can read about it. Poor choice by you putting down something this good.

both comments that might lead one to believe the kid was now or just recently left peebles for "greener" pastures.

I think I have given up on that. It would have been nice last year....I think we would have been stronger than both Ironton and Chessy with him.

It dosent matter how anyone interpreted the op. This is the same situation as with the post on another thread of how a kid who grew up in Wheelersburg recently signed to play with Virginia Tech. Treg moved from Peebles in elementary school but still maintains friendships with classmates and goes to many of our school/community events; Such as Prom, Old Timers Day, our district tourny last season, etc. This forum's only purpose was to acknowledge the recent accomplishments of someone who is seen as , and is sometimes literaly, family to many people in this area.

If you don't care how I interpreted it then why comment on it? I know all I need to know about Treg and his situation. There should be nothing but good things mentioned on this topic, cheer up pal.

Trevor is playing at Pikeville College. Hard to tell which is better....Treg has gotten more major college interest but I believe Trevor to have been undervalued for what he actually brung to that team. Darius Miller(Part time starter at Kentucky now) seemed to reign over the spotlight during their high school years. He was asked to walk on at Oklahoma St. but im not sure why he chose not to. (scholarships, playing time, proximity to home, transfer regulations,etc.)?
