NEW Performance Enhancement Program at the Jackson YMCA
Posted: Mon May 24, 2010 9:45 pm
I have already posted this on the football forum, but wanted to put it here for those of you who only read the b-ball forum.
The Speed Performance Oriented Resistance Training program at the Jackson Area YMCA is ideal for all athletes regardless of sport and will help give you and your team the winning edge.
Athletic Performance Enhancement
Through our intense regiment of cutting edge training methods, our highly qualified exercise physiologist will assess your abilities and fitness levels to tailor a plan that is best suited to your needs as an athlete through increased strength speed and agility.
Athletic Performance Testing
Each athlete that participates in the SPORT program will participate in test in and test out sessions that will consist of speed agility and strength testing. The test in will allow our staff to get a better idea of the needs of each athlete so that your SPORT program can be tailored to maximize your benefits. The test out will be the demonstration of the improvement that you have been able to achieve.
Points of Training
Speed is an undeniable difference maker in every sport. It is the one aspect that can set an athlete apart from the pack.
Strength is the corner stone of any successful athlete’s training and it can make the difference between 1st and 10 or 4th and 1 on the football field, or change a triple into a home run on the diamond. Strength will undoubtedly have a positive affect on all athletes regardless of sport.
Agility is the ability to react to a given stimulus. In most sports that stimulus is seen in the form of the opposing team. Increasing an athlete’s agility will result in the athlete being able to react quicker and perform more efficiently.
Improved Confidence and Understanding of Training After completion of the program the athlete will leave with a new sense of confidence in their improved athletic abilities and will have an understanding of the safe and proper way to train for their sport
