Possible replacement for Mountain State Academy is Arlington Country Day out of Jacksonville, Florida. Last year they were 26-2, losing one of their games by 7 points to Findlay Prep, the top ranked high school team in the nation.

I agree, Coach Lafon has done an outstanding job since taking over and the Classic is awesome for everyone involved.

The Ironton Classic is awesome, but I have to wonder how much they are paying some of these teams to travel all the way to little old Ironton Ohio in December. You know they have to be shelling out some cash to get these big time teams.

I would think there are some pretty good sponsors behind the scene. The Tiger Clan does a great job at the Classic which is a big help in making it a success.

No. The "Beasts of the Southeast" is held at Chesapeake. The Ironton Classic will be in its third year next year and is held at Ironton.

I can not wait the see the Ironton/Taft game. If the Tigers come out on top in this one everyone else in SEO better watch out. Taft beat a very good Ripley team last year in the tourny by nearly 60 points but I think Ironton wont nearly be affected as much as the Blue Jays were by their height. IMO the senators win by 20-22pts.

This is a link to Country Da's preview for this year..

Respectively they were the Sate Runner ups in Class A Florida last year.

Two or three players on their current roster have been offerec ACC and SEC scholorships to numerous schools.

Roster includes:
Last years team finished 26-6 last year State championship runners up class A. We return a large number of contributors from last years team. The bulk of which is comprised of what we believe to be the strongest 2012 class in the country. We only return one class of 2011 starter 6'7 Delron Summey and one newcomer 6'3 point guard Can Korkmaz. Our 2012 class includes 3 wing players Shawn Smith, Ian Baker and Carlos Morris each of which has numerous ACC,SEC and Big 12 offers. In addition we have added 6'11 Christian Mwepe and 7' Pape Morsall into our frontcourt rotation. Our 2013 class is also very impressive with guards 6'4 Gian Louis Clavell and 6'1 pg Luis Huertas. Also in that class we have 6'8 forward Kerem Kanter brother of Enes Kanter of Kentucky. Our 2014 class includes 6'10 Michael Gilmore nephew of NBA great Artis Gilmore. We look forward to competing at most elite levels of high school basketball this year.
