This year could be very interresting in the OVC, With plenty of SR departures and great Soph and JR classes returning at many schools.
This could be the year that several OVC teams make it to district play.

1. Chesapeake- While losing their PG they return an talented team which went to the State Final 4. They should repaet as league champs.
2. South Point- Should have enough talent left lessa little size to be a factor in the race. They will have solid guard play and should play fast paced.
3-6. I think Coal Grove,Fairland Rock Hill and River Valley could be in any of these spots come years end. Really shaping up to be a good season.

Jmo. Chesapeake, without a doubt. Then Fairland. Then South Point. After that it doesnt really matter....Chesapeake got some good recognition. Picked Number three in the state of Ohio in Division 3 Preseason. Says something about Southeastern Ohio!

What you mean it doesn't matter? Should these teams just not play basketball? None of stand a chance of getting a couple post season wins?

Its a thread that says OVC...which means conference play. Not post season. If you want my full breakdown ok....

I agree with ovc fan on this with peake at one then fairland then south point and from there the teams are so bad it could go either way

See i think fairland will get that 2 over south point because the inside and outside game fairland has while south point only has a outside game and no bigs

Wow, Pantherdad....have a little more respect for the other teams. My prediction is Panthers win. And I didnt mean any disrespect to any other team. But its a long road to the Schott. The Panthers can do it but a lot of things have to go their way. They should win the OVC and thats what this post was about. Tourney play is a long way off so calm down til late January. Haha

Ahh, just havin' a little fun. No disrespect meant. Just a little rallying cry for Purple Nation. I jumbled the names just to highlight the fact that it should be a year long battle for the final OVC pecking order.

Even though the Panthers should be the big favorite in the OVC, we know that nobody is going to let us repeat without a fight. I fully expect some tough battles in the OVC. And once the state tournament starts, it'll be nail biting every night. It would be nice to go back to Columbus, but to paraphrase Robert Frost:

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But we have promises to keep,
And many miles before we sleep,
And many miles before we sleep.
