Sorry Leo, haven't been to a Hornet basketball game in 3 years. I will continue to remain absent from home games because I hate listening to the fans (parents who think it's their son's God-given right to start). From what I hear, Monnier is about the only thing they have going for them this year and after hearing they lost to a Rose Hill team that didn't win a game last year, it doesn't sound good. Many in Coal Grove have attempted to undermine the coach since he's been there and in such situations, either the underminers or the coach must go. Unfortunately for CG basketball, the underminers aren't going anywhere any time soon. Shame on you folks. I'll just leave it at that.

Hey Fuzz, not trying to hijack the thread but do you know anything about Rose Hill? What happened to them? In 2005-2007 they were pretty darn good. They had a couple kids that started those two years as 8th grade and then freshmen in 06-07. They were getting attention from D I schools then. Should have been seniors last year.

It's alright Raiderball. Rose Hill is a small Christian school in Ashland, Ky. OJ Mayo and Bill Walker went there for a time before heading up to North College Hill. Last fall, Rose Hill was suspended from the postseason for two years for violating KHSAA rules. I imagine that whoever you're talking about probably transfered out of there so they could play postseason ball.

Dakotah Euton and Chad Jackson both transferred to Kentucky powerhouse Scott County. Euton now plays for the Akron Zips, I believe. He spent his final two years at SC.

Yeah, that's the two I was thinking of. Couldn't remember Jackson kids name. Both very good players.

Coal Grove will get a very stiff test on Friday when they head just a few blocks away into Ironton to take on a very game St. Joseph team that comes in at 1-2 after a very bitter overtime loss to Rock Hill. If CG is as down as I hear they are, they could lose by double digits, especially without size down low which was Rock Hill's ace in the hole. I should be there for this one.

CG falls to 0-3 tonight with a 20-something point loss to SV. I left with about 5 minutes left and it was 50-something to 30-something. The Grove looked a little better tonight with Monnier back in the lineup, but still nothing doing on the offensive side of the ball. Passing has to get better.

This may be a stupid prediction on my part...but its quite possible this team may be winless this year. And with a very weak schedule. I really hope not.

Not a stupid prediction at all, ovc fan. This happened not too long ago back in 06-07. It is certainly not out of the question. The talent is just not there this year. I think they will win a few this year - possibly three if they improve throughout the year. The other side of the coin is that the program has been undermined and it's the kids who suffer. I truly feel for the coaches, kids, and parents. A house divided against itself cannot stand.
