This could be put on any forum but since basketball is the most active right now I will use it.
Do you believe that pride for ones school is a thing of the past? I can think of examples on both sides winning schools and losing schools where the players just do not have pride for their school. For people on losing teams it is usually they feel like they are not winning so they do not have to care about their school, in fact I have heard many players talk about wanting to play for other schools. On the winning side I know people who feel as though they don't get the credit or recognition they deserve, so they want to leave. There are exceptions of players who do love their community and their school and would stand by it no matter what the situation was, but I see this less and less. What are your thoughts on this matter, do you believe pride is a dying subject, or not? I am interested in hearing the opinions of everybody.

Re: Pride?
it is defintely dying out. now days if kids are made to work or if a coach is passionate and intense and they yell alot parents get emotional and take their kids somewhere else and usually they go through the same thing there too...coaches are trying to teach an intense sport. people aren't always gonna pat you on the back and at the next level coaches are passionate. most kids now want to play for another school if they don't start, or aren't the main focus of the team..i loved playing for my school and my senior year had to open enroll to stay there and had the opportunity to play for a better school...i may have won a total of 30 games in my entire career but wouldn't have had it any other way because it was home!!
