Should be a interesting game and very important for both of the teams seasons...
Marietta seems to have the ship headed in the right direction so far this season, while Logan gave Warren.. a early season favorite in the SEOAL... a pretty good fight for most of the game in their last game.

Logan.... 18 9 16 17 -- 60
Marietta 13 17 18 21 -- 69

I heard 50-44 on the JV. I'm less sure of the winner than the score, I think Marietta won.

The JV score, per Craig Dunn call, was 50-44 in favor of Marietta

No freshman game

I think the key stat of the game will be the edge Marietta had in rebounding. Marietta shooting was very poor from the outside in the first qtr, and from the FT line, allowing Logan to take an 18-11 lead. Marietta went on a 12-0 run to end the half, eliminating a 27-18 lead by Logan, that pretty well coincided with Rutter going out of the game with a lower leg injury. The first 5 minutes of the 3rd qtr the teams traded 3 point leads, and then after it was tied at 38, Marietta went on a 10-2 run to lead 48-40. Logan scored the first two baskets of the 4th to cut the lead to 48-47, but Marietta scored 10 for a 58-47 lead. Logan fought back and made a bucket and get fouled. A made FT would have cut it to 58-57, and Logan was in good position, with six team fouls, to put Marietta at the line to see if they could make front ends of the one plus the bonus. Marietta was 6/14 at the line tonight. However Logan missed the the FT to cut it to one, and Logan let Wynn get a bust out off the rebound and should have fouled him on the drive down the sideline to put him at the line, but they let him jet down for the lay-up. Kriechbaum made the smartest play of the game in the first half on a similar break-out by Logan on a bad Marietta inbounds pass, fouling(properly going for the ball) to take away the easy looming lay-up and make Logan take the ball OB. Once Marietta's lead was back to four, they made several steals and break-out baskets, 11 points by Wynn in the final qtr.

I had the scoring:

Luke Miller 8 2-3 22 (4 treys)
Kenneth Beuchler 5 0-1 12
Kyle Guess 5 1-1 12
Jared Rutter 3 0-0 6
John Teal 2 0-0 5 (Fouled out being physical with Sewell)
Derek Montgomery 0 2-4 2
Jessie Randolph 0 1-2 1
Logan total 23 6-11 60 (8 treys)

Wes Riley 6 1-3 17 (4 treys)
Morgan Wynn 7 1-1 15
Tim Grosel 7 0-0 15 (strong 9 pt 2nd qtr to get the Tigers going)
Nathan Williams 6 2-2 14 (several good put-back baskets, at least 2 pts each qtr)
John Sewell 1 2-8 4
Conner Hess 1 0-0 2
Nat Thompson 1 0-0 2
Marietta total 29 6-14 69 (5 treys)

Good effort, turnovers not a problem, a few blocks, several rebounds, some good interior passes, under heavy duress when he got the ball low - drew several fouls and bricked some FG attempts as well as some of his 8 FTs. One bad FG shot choice on a foul line + 2' shot when he was 2/8 at the line. Also f course Riley, with a shooter's conscience, went 1-3 from the line in the 2nd qtr including a missed front-end, then immediately fires a trey and makes it for his 2nd of 4 treys in the game.

Not sure if you are from out of town, but if you are you can listen to the games online at wmoa1490.com

I listen from Columbus, to pretty much ever game. Never have to miss the call of Johnny and Mark!

Hope that helps if you are looking to hear any of the action.

From the Marietta Times:

LOGAN (1-5): Ronnie Webb 0-4 (0-1) 0-0 0, Nik Wotring 0-4 (0-1) 0-0 0, Kenneth Buckler 5-22 (2-6) 0-1 12, Kyle Guess 5-7 (1-2) 1-1 12, Luke Miller 9-17 (4-9) 2-3 24, Enrico Schoenheit 0, Jesse Randolph 0-0 1-2 1, Jared Rutter 2-2 0-0 4, Derek Montgomery 0-0 2-4 2, John Teal 2-3 (1-1) 0-0 5, Josh Mutzner 0. Totals 23-59 (8-20) 6-11 60.

MARIETTA (6-1): Jon Sewell 1-7 2-8 4, Wes Riley 6-11 (4-9) 1-3 17, Morgan Wynn 7-14 (0-6) 1-1 15, Eli Lenington 0-1 (0-1) 0-0 0, Nathan Williams 6-9 2-2 14, Cody Kriechbaum 0-4 (0-3) 0-0 0, Connor Hess 1-3 0-0 2, Nat Thompson 1-1 0-0 2, Tim Grosel 7-9 (1-1) 0-0 15. Totals 29-59 (5-20) 6-14 69.

Team stats:

FG Pct.: Logan 38.9, Marietta 49.2. 3-Pt. FG Pct.: Logan 40, Marietta 25. FT Pct.: Logan 54.5, Marietta 42.9. Rebounds: Logan 29 (Rutter 6, Buckler 5), Marietta 43 (Williams 13, Sewell 8, Grosel 8, Hess 7). Assists: Logan 10 (Buckler 4, Webb, Guess and Rutter 2 each), Marietta 14 (Wynn 4, Grosel 3, Riley 2, Lenington 2). Steals: Logan 5 (Buckler 2, Miller 2), Marietta 7 (Wynn 4, Riley 2). Turnovers: Logan 15, Marietta 16. Fouls: Logan 15, Marietta 14.

JV score: Marietta 50, Logan 44.

Logan: Gavin Joruden 6; Josh Vermilion 11; Josh Muntzner 11; Anthony McNeal 10; Cory McCarty 4; Tristan Myers 2

Marietta: Reid Chwalek 10; Mitchel Gearhart 9; Jordan Satterfield 2; Justin Futrell 13; Matt Thompson 7; Jared Hammons 2; Braden Riley 2; Chance Wright 5

Reading the article, it says Marietta was 11/31 (35%) on FG in the first half. This figures that they were 18/28(64%) in the 2nd half! The total rebounds agree pretty well with the number of missed FG and FT. What I can't understand is if the turnovers and fouls were about even for both teams, how can both teams have the same number of shots if Marietta won the rebound battle by 14?

could be missed shot that gets batted out of bounds in an effort to get the rebound. I don't see those as rebounds since no one actually controlled the ball it just went off someone.
Just guessing, wasn't at game.

you don't always get another shot from a rebound
