Thoughts..

I HOPE to see 3 things: Sort of my Christmas list for the Trojans

1) Hang on to leads in the 4th. Whether go to your bench and get fresher legs or play more stall ball, I don't care HOLD ON TO THE LEAD

2) Better execution on EASY points (Too many missed LAYUPS and FREE THROWS) I know it's early on but c'mon man! Seen too many missed layups.

3) MORE ZAIDE WHITLEY!!!!!!!! I don't know if coach is easing him back into transition and not putting too much pressure on him early. BUT he looks game ready and fine. Right now majority of the time we have one player on the court who can drive the lane and create plays and that's Wayne. Warren started doubling and forced our other guards to handle the ball. They seemed to struggle some or just didn't have confidence. Zaide when in the game and handling the ball looks confident and seems to have great handles. So why not use him when your main option is getting double teamed and is being pressed to bring the ball up the court.

I think if the Trojans can accomplish these three things while continuing the positives they are doing (Big games from post players, taking better percentage shots, rebounding) they will greatly improve and be a much better ball club. Also I'd like to see a much more aggressive team on defense. We need to get better on fighting through screens and closing out on defenders.....

Jackson must have some extra determination on rebounds and must hit some big 3's.

Trojan7: Great breakdown on the Rx for the Trojans.......I, too, would like to see Zaide play more and I think that Coach Collins is just trying to ease him back into shape.......from the limited time I have seen Zaide play, he seems to defend well, and his ballhandling and passes have looked good.........I just don't think Zaide is at the cardio level to play as much as some want him to play.......he will no doubt be an impact player for us.......and I think it will be soon.

Dion sat out most of 3rd after picking up 3rd foul early

No one really jumped out on the scoring......someone had 17 I think but it was a good display of team ball. Underwood was held down on points and they contained Evans well.

Score was 37-27 and then they broke loose. Portsmouth is already very athletic and good.....they could be great by the end of the year at full strength. The coach handles his team very well.

Final scores:

Portsmouth 63, Jackson 34 — Varsity

Portsmouth 49, Jackson 25 — JV

Portsmouth 43, Jackson 16 — Freshmen

I listened to it on the radio due to I didnt have the $2 to park with christmas around the corner=)

Sounds like Jackson needs to play alil more team ball and hit the boards better. If im not mistaking the radio said PHS out rebounded jackson by 17 or 18. With Jackson only having 2 offensive rebounds. When you shoot 21% the field you gota rebound better.

Portsmouth is a better team but i dont think their 29pts better. Good luck the rest of the year to both teams.

Nxt game at Jackson will someone pick me up at the baseball field and sneak me in with them?? I got a pack of cigrettes I'll share. Thanks!!
