Ironton moves to 5-2 with a win over Gallia Academy.

This should be a good one.

GO TIGERS..........

Will the Team be staying in Welston overnight since they play 2 days or will they travel up and back each day? That's if the weather holds up long enough for them to play this weekend.

Not sure JG really has a quality win yet. Cambridge is about it. Morgan, Meadowbrook, New Lex and Philo are not very good right now. Sheridan and Maysville are among the best in the MVL, and they did play both of them within one point (I think both of those losses were at home; certain of that for the Sheridan game).

Jake Heagen is a very good player, the reigning Player of the Year in the MVL. A lanky but strong 6-4, and athletic. He'll handle it for them, he's got excellent range, and he can also take it in the lane, rise and throw it down. I would say that the talent around him is less than scintillating, but Jake does a great job of raising his teammates' level of play. As you can see, they've got decent size, and they'll bang you around. This is a team I expect will continue to improve over the course of the season and be a very tough out in the tournament.

I believe Jake has already signed with Findlay, BTW. They've also got a veteran coach who knows what he's doing. Should be a very good matchup.

I think Ironton runs away with this game. Newark Catholic lost a lot from last season's state runner up and are basically a mid level team in their league. The Green Wave beat Sheridan at Sheidan, so if the Generals are one of the MVL's best, the league must be down.

Sheridan played horrible against Catholic, they have been having some chemistry issues. When they are on their game (like they were against Fairfield Union who they led by over 30 early in the 4th qtr) they are very difficult to handle. I believe Ironton wins as Heagen doesn't have much help this year. JG is very, very well coached and will scrap though.

What time is the Ironton - John Glenn game?
It says 5:15 on the schedule I printed out, but I have written "3:30" beside that - probably from info stated by WIROJason on a broadcast.
And is the Sunday game still at 4:30?
We got a dusting of snow here in Ironton early Fri morning which had mostly melted off the pavement before sunset, but now we have another inch or two down.
Who knows what Rt 93 looks like?
My thermometer says 25 now, and even a glimmer of sunlight Sat morning would improve pavement conditions.
