Jackson will have to have other players beside Chapman score in double figures. Gotta hit some outside shots and rebound well. Make your free throws and see what that gets you.

they have 1 big kid? as long as jackson forces him to his left hand and they conatin the 3 point shots, marietta wont be a problem.
i think jackson has enough size to compete with marietta. it will be a interesting game i think.....

Glad I didnt have to travel for this one..... and hope all my friends from jackson made it home safely....... 2nd time i seen jackson play, cant say alot..everyone knows why . think maybe jackson found a shooter if he gets the chance its funny when ya bring some different kids in at the end of both games that didnt hardly get in all night and for the llast 4-5 mins leads the team in scoring..... the kid on the jy team had 7-8 points maybe.. aggressive and drove the lane, the kid in the varsity hit 3 3's in a couple mins of play.... just one thing, if they have a box and one on your best player...... you have to set screens to get him open.... great job tigers... congrats!!

I agree with you Tiger. I think the coach will be a good fit for Jackson in the long run. Look at your starting 5, look at your bench, is there something your missing coach?

Your school has a Superintendant that either coached a team that won state or got runner up I believe. Ask for some guidance... ask to be mentored....

When your setting in the bleachers with your fingers crossed, hoping your team makes it across half court before 10 seconds elapses, you need to adjust.

Look at your stats, How many games have you played? Who do I bring off the bench? Do they score in a matter of a few seconds? Maybe I should start them?

Should I do a full court press? If I press them can I make them as tired as they make us? If I press can I get some turnovers?

Can they handle a fast break team? Should I change my point guard to a shooting guard? Should I use my seniors more?

No matter how hard you try you can't win a Nas Car race with a Chevrolet Metro.
But you could slow them down by swerving side to side when they try to lap you.

Run screens for you shooters, full court press, shoot the ball, Come on coach you can do this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and the 6'11 kid was a non-factor

Just because the big man did not score does not mean he was not a factor. He altered and blocked shots and ripped down rebounds and even made a few good passes.

I was not putting down the coach at all Mr. Franks. I know he has his work cut out for him.
Jackson is a football school and I think coach Mckinnis will make it a basketball school also.
Just wanting to see a different type of game for the young men.
They need to believe in themselves.

Congrats to Phil Howard on his state championship...he'll be very excited to learn of this.

You'd think Latham would get a sign up or something for that feat.

Maybe 6 or 7 other schools played ineligible players and had to forfeit and they were declared champions? I believe they made it to the elite 8 and lost at the buzzer in the Regional Championship that year to state runner-up Harvest Prep.

Not to take anything from Howard cause I think he also had at least one team from Piketon in addition to the one from Latham in the regionals and he had several years experience as a head coach and could probably give some advice to a young head coach, but due to a last second shot he has no Final Four on his resume.

But i agree with you fully on what i have been seeing so far in the stands. I didnt make it to the Marietta game. But it sounds like the same song and dance.

4 ever is probably following the rules on what is said about the coaches

Yeah, Howard's team at Western lost a heartbreaker at the buzzer to Harvest Prep.....McCleod and White were two great high school guards.....that team had a tremendous run in the postseason.
