Thoughts ..
The first match up was a classic game with Burg winning in OT.. I know Waverly don't have the record everyone thought they would at this point in the season but they are still a very talented ball club and just has not had the ball bounce there way in the 4th quarter of there losses.

Waverly has to figure out ways to win these close games. The Pirates shot lights out from beyond the arc in the earlier contest at Burg, draining a 3 to tie it at the end of regulation and then winning by 1 in the extra session. The Tigers have to do a better job denying the 3 ball. Martin, Kretzer and Ward should control the paint. Kelly & White have to knock down some shots and take care of the ball.
THEY ARE ALL MUST WINS FOR THE TIGERS NOW!

A 3 game week for Burg (if the weather cooperates) starting with the tough trip to Waverly. Stegman coming off the 36 pt game vs. SW will be hungry to have another good night. It seems like Stegman's intensity has picked up the past 2 games on the boards and being aggressive once he gets the ball. If the 3 point shooting isn't any better than it has been the past 2 games, this one will be tough for Burg to win. If the outside shots are falling, Stegman should have another big night.

GO PIRATES!!

4th you couldnt have said it better about the 3's...it seems like Burg always lives and dies by the 3...but then again it has been like that for a looooong time...when they dont fall, it seems like the boys can't score at all, and when they do it opens up the entire court for the pirates to run their offense...waverly can be a tough place to play, but I have no doubt that Burg can pull it off again.

Burg will have a chance to win th game , if they speed th game
up, and push th break, there a better team when they run.
There not big enough , and don't rebound well enough to run a
halfcourt offense, .WAverly has been playing better and will be
ready.

Very true....but if they hit threes like we have all seen them do in some games this year, the inside lanes will open up for stegman and its game over...gonna be a close game either way...pullin for my pirates in a nailbiting finish

I gotta favor Waverly at home. The three point shot law of averages will always catch up with you eventually. Not sure what Burg's percentage was the first game, but it's harder to hit threes on away courts. Just don't have the sweet spots that you have at home.

Wheelersburg hits a 3 with 1.9 seconds remaining and Kretzer misses at the buzzer. Sounded like a great game. Another close loss for the Tigers.

Burg played the slow game tonight and did just fine. I have no idea on the stats for the game, but from watching, it seemed like Burg controlled the boards. You have to remember that Kretzer does not play inside and really doesn't get too many rebounds even though he is 6'7".

Looks like JP White should have played more tonight for the Tigers 2of 3 from 3 in first half and 2of 3 in the second half (or just 4th quarter).

On another note although i hate to lose our Seniors I am glad to see Stegman graduate he is a great player in Barricks system.

I agree soccerfix it was nice to see a clean hard fought game of basketball.
