Homecoming night at Wheelersburg. The first meeting was a blow-out, but West had some key players out for that game. West has since beat Minford and played Oak Hill within 10 points. Wheelersburg is coming off of 2 nice wins against South Webster and Waverly after their 10 point loss at Oak Hill.
GO PIRATES!!

Bradford is doing a good job @ West, but it's going to take time to change the attitudes of Senator basketball players.
The Burg defense should be too much for West who struggles to put points on the board on a consistent basis.

Gotta go with Burg, but West has improved so it should be closer than the first match.

The Pirates started out really slow with 3 turnovers on their first 3 possessions and West was on fire, especially #20. He had 12 points in the 1st quarter and 15 at the half, but didn't score a point the second half. The Burg finally settled down after falling behind 22-9 and were only behind by 4 at the half and it could have 2 if Stegman hits the putback at the buzzer. The Pirates came out on fire in the 3rd and quickly went up by 12 and just cruised from there winning by 19 points. Wheelersburg defense held West to I believe just 14 points in the second half.

Cheerblock was great. The boys dressing up as the coaches is classic!

At first it looked like it was just a head piece of some kind, but once he got closer it was obvious he actually did shave his head!

By far the worst officiating game I've ever seen in High School. 3 of te 5 West starters had 4 fouls in the third quarter. West jumped on them early Bolton was on fire. Ratliff was holding Stegman in check, then come the fouls. West couldn't touch a Burg player, but Burg almost had to tackle a West player to have a foul called on them. These refs need to go back and take a class on what a charge is. Coach Bradford really works hard on having the boys to stand tough on take the charge. And Burg kept running them over but the charge was rarely called. That is unless you was driving the basket for West. Stegman gets away with what ever he wants on defense. Offense he earns every thing he gets, sometimes he's unstoppable. This is the first time ever that Coach Brardford, did not put the loss on his players. This officiating crew should be ashamed of themselves. And Burg shouldn't put alot into this victory, because you had a whole lot of help down the stretch. 5 West players can't beat 8 Burg players.

west played well for first half. then basketball talent took over. once burg stopped #20 from shooting 3's it was over. he was scoreless in the second half i believe. as for one believing it was the worst officiated game i do not think it was true. west had no other option than to bang around on the inside. being significantly out sized usually causes the guys inside to pick up a lot of fouls. better luck next year for the siders. burg tallest player will be about 6'2" if nothing changes.

Are you kidding me??? With all the pushing and shoving that West did all night you are lucky you didn't have 3 or 4 starters foul out.
As for the charges, I do believe the Burg had 3 called on them compared to 1 for West.
The only help the Burg had down the stretch was they contained #20 and shut him down in the 2nd half, as well as the entire West team who only scored 14 points in the half, plus the fact that the Pirates finally got the offense going. West was down by double digits very quickly in the 3rd quarter and the fell apart on offense. It had nothing to do with the officiating.
