"The People's Elite 8" week 5, sponsored by datchillicav

Post by datchillicav »

Sorry I'm a day late getting the pole out but the super bowl kinda slows productivity for America in more than just the workplace.

Here is how they finished lats week.

rank. Team. Points. High. Low.
1. Chillicothe. 149. 1st. 2nd.
2. Chesapeake. 144. 1st. 4th.
3. Warren. 112. 2nd. 6th.
4. Portsmouth. 106. 2nd. 5th.
5. Piketon. 68. 3rd. 8th
6. Logan Elm. 65. 4th. Unr.
7. Peebles. 50. 6th. Unr.
8. Ironton. 19. 6th. Unr.

Also receiving points:
Eastern (4), Marrietta (2), Wheelersburg (1)

Major storylines IMO include,
Chillicothe loses a close one at Portsmouth and then takes it out on GAHS
Portsmouth follows the close win against Chilli with a win at Marrietta
Warren beat Jackson by 30 and Logan by nearly 20
Peebles beat Whiteoak in a close one and then beat Fayetteville by over 50

I went out of town this week and am not up on everything that happenned so if you have anything to add just post it.

8. Miami Trace/Unioto/Ironton

Yes, I have a 3-way tie at the bottom.

Miami Trace is 12-2, but has that ugly lose to Fairfield(who is much better than their record)
Unioto is 11-5, but have only been beaten by a combined 16 pts(yes, a loss is a loss)
Ironton is 10-5, but while losing to nearly every good team they've face, still beat a good Huntington High and will be scary in the tournament.

I really cannot argue too much if a D2 team is at the top.......but a 1 loss team with a good resume (excuse me for the ESPN lingo) shouldn't be lower than 2nd.........SORRY Portsmouth! I know, you beat them @ your place BUT you lost to some people you shouldn't have. Peake's only loss is nothing to fret about ( neutral site/1 pt./ ? finish/ top or 1 of the top WV teams with Comp. results vs higher level OH schools)......GO PEAKE

:-D So true, I know you're never going to convince us, and we are never going to convince you, so just put what you think, and we see who goes the farthest. 8)

Not sure who "Peake" was talking at. Your post followed mine...if that was meant for me, my ? is ....isn't that what these sites are for ? Talk/banter,etc. They make millions doing it on TV, we do it 'cause we like hoops and as long as it is in good taste, it's fun!!!!!!!!! The discussions keep it interesting......or they do for me.

We've had the same conversation for honestly 6 weeks. I agree 100% with your opinion, I am just saving you some time. We have had this discussion for some time and it has come to a point where it is played out. We have all agreed to disagree on the subject. Just saying but you are welcome to your own opinion.

Thanks for clarifying (peake).....I understand the point.....I guess I just try to make some sense out of opinion that always doesn't seem to make sense...the Portsmouth gang likes to make a case for their side BUT not acknowledge when someone uses similar logic to support their team or point of view! I don't know everything BUT I have 25 + yrs. experience in HOOPS!!! from player (not too bad) to coach (WV state tourney experience) to DAD and back to coaching @ the youth level............
