Championships Chillicothe vs Portsmouth - Feb 24 @ Eastern.
I know this probably doesn't belong on the High School site, but Southern Ohio will get to see two great games at Eastern - Beaver. Chillicothe and Portsmouths 7th and 8th grade teams will meet for the tourney championship next Thursday. This will be the 3rd matchup this year.
Portsmouth's 7th grade is in the top 5 if not the best team in the area. Chilly gave them one of the closest scares of the season a few weeks back. Round 3 will be intense. As the coaches said today it will be a battle
The 8th grade matchup will be the rubber match after seeing both regular season games go into overtime with the Trojans winning on a last second 3 to win round one and Chilly winning by 4.
It is important to know that at this level it is about development and wins/losses should not be the priority. Also, this level is about team development,so talking about individual kids is not my style. However I can assure you these 2 games will be intense.
Good luck to all 4 teams.

Still waiting on trojandave to tell me he may grace souhtheastern pike county to see these two titanic match ups. I know he is busy dueling with Peake on the other thread about state championship contenders out of the southeast.

Yea, I'm biting my tongue and deleted about 5 responses I was going to send. Cavs will go about our business at at levels and do what we do. I learned in business school many years ago that "McDonalds never mentions the competition, cause they are looking forward and not back." Always will be haters, which is why I love to see two old Southeast powers back at the top of their game like P-Town and Chilly.bvmv4life wrote:Yea hitchbone the funny thing about that is some is trying to pull Chillicothe in their convos..
GO CAVS!

I hate that we are going to have to miss the PEP Rally too! I know that it is going to be soooo much fun and excitement in that gym! It feels good to see our student athletes, fans, family, friends and community showing so much love and school spirit!
Both championship games are at 6:30 on Thursday. Don't know why they set it up that way, but oh well. Game time Jr. High Trojans Let's Get It!!! :aaaaa14 :aaaaa41

Actually there is a switch in game times. Because the Trojans and Cavs are both playing in the 7th and 8th grade contest, our gracious host are going to play the games back to back.
The 7th grade contest will begin at 5:30 pm with the 8th grade immediately following. I believe there will be a brief ceremony for trophy presentation but I'm not sure.

Excellent tournament!
I didn't get to catch much of the Chillicothe/Portmouth games as I officiated the games in the other gym....But I must say it was great to see both gyms packed with fans who came out to support these young men!
The atmosphere was awesome in both gyms...You could tell it was tourney time!
And I must say a huge THANKS to the few fans who came up to us after the game & said thank you to us officials for taking the time to officiate for these young men....Not very often we are thanked or complimented....lol....So I just wanted to say that we appreciate the kind words!
Oh, and yes I had the "taco in a bag"....AWESOME!!!!
