Should be a very good game, but I am going with the Spartans by 5. Chapman should handle the pressure defense, and Athens has no real answer for Jack Hart. However, if Athens is really hitting shots as they can do, they just might win.

This game can be heard on 970 WATH in Athens, with Grant Burkhardt and Rob Schreier on the call. Pre-game coverage begins at 7:45, with the tip at 8.

You can listen to the contest online at http://athensi.com (click on the WATH AM link).

Thanks, and good luck to both teams!

Alexander had a nice defensive plan, but Athens had a dreadful night shooting. 11 for 49 will get you beat pretty much every night. Athens defense and Maffin and Mentese's 3 point shooting was the only thing that kept the Bulldogs in the game. Watching it on Nelsonville TV Cable was painful for the Bulldog fans. Athens depends on its outside shooting against a player like Hart and the shots just wouldn't fall. Good shooting is much better to have than good effort. As Hubie Brown says on TV, "Good shooting overcomes a multitude of sins". Amen brother!

So does good coaching. Looks like Alexander did some good coaching.
