Great season guys. I'm very proud of all of you and how you play as a TEAM!

You know, it would be nice to see the records or scores if you are going to start threads like this. You started this one and don't tell us how many wins they have and the other with no score of the game. A little info goes a long way.

Burg grad, The Vikings are 17-3 and on a 12 game winning streak. SV really dominated teh game tonight against Eastern it was very impressive. SV proved they are very deserving of a SOC title...

did they end up co-champs with Green ? If they were the proven best they would'nt be sharing anything. nice year and congrats are in order but no need to slight Green.

Congrats to Symmes Valley from this Green fan. They both accomplished a lot this year. Scrolling back thru the archives here few picked Green or Symmes Valley to win it this year,mostly just talking about who WASN'T playing this year so congrats to the players and staffs of both teams. SOC CHAMPS!!!

Couldn't agree more Hoot, great season for green and symmes valley. Not many people thought we would be sharing the SOC crown at the end of the season. New coaches for both schools last season and both have done an excellent job with both programs. Best of luck to both teams in tournament play.

I'm sure it is the most wins in the reg season in school history, and thats probably what your referring to, but didn't Symmes Valley win 18 games in 2001 when they made it to the Regional Semis

Yes, this is the most regular season wins.

Yes, that included the tournament wins.

hey wellston ironman if they beat a bunch of slackers what does that say about your team you got beat by one of those supposed slackers.

I am sure the fine fans at Clay, Eastern, and Green do not consider their teams slackers in any way! We don't either! Every team we played consisted of a fine group of young men who are not sitting on computers like we are right now!

To RiverValley 93: Find a thread you know something about! Viking Grad who I disagree with most of the time makes very valid points. Hard to argue with stats if you know what I mean.

First of all...To the "Wellston Ironman," I would venture to guess that you have not even ever been to a Symmes Valley basketball game, but just enjoy belittling anyone's accomplishments while exaggerating your own.

Secondly, these teams are the teams that we have played for many years and we have beaten more of them this year than in any other year ever. Therefore, this is an accomplishment to be proud of.

Thirdly, the only reason our team has accomplished what it has this year is because of the word TEAM. None of our players could have accomplished this alone.

Lastly, going far into the tournament will be based solely on continuing to play as a team. I wouldn't be surprised if people from other schools wouldn't be trying to get our players to be upset with one another in order to hurt our chances of winning. Ignore them all and play ball.

Thank YOU popcorn and 1 longtimeviking, couldn't agree more this group of young men play as a team and leave it all on the court every game. I know each and every one of the players very well and their good friends off the court as well. Just keep up the good work VIKINGS AND WE AS VIKING FANS ARE VERY PROUD OF EVERYTHING YOU HAVE DONE SO FAR AND WHO KNOWS HOW FAR YOU CAN GO IN TOURNMENT. And when it's all said and done just take a look at the banner on the wall next year and no negative comments can take that away. GOOD LUCK VIKINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BOTTOM LINE:

Dont mean to spoil yer playoff boners viking fans but the basketball in Meigs county is clearly superior and you will only have a deep run in the tourney if you dont cross paths with Howdy or Howdy junior.
