I know Portsmouth's Wayne Evans has played the past two weekends with All-Ohio purple. They've won both tourneys. Team also consists of CJ Getty, Adolphus Washington(Taft), Orlando Berry(Taft) and maybe another Taft player to go along with some more talent. They beat Austin Loop's team in the All-Ohio Nike Invitational. Good Luck to all the local talent and I too hope to attend some AAU games this summer.

I got too watch the Cincy Royals Elite beat Riverside Physical Therapy in last weekends Bearcat Classic. I also saw Zac Carter,Trey Fletcher, and Austin McBee playing in the 16U grouping at the same event. Not sure on the name of their team though.

Hopefully Taft does have 3 players on the same AAU team - then maybe they will be ineligible for next year!! You are only allowed to have 2 kids from a school on the same AAU team, except June-July! June/July you can have as many as you want.

Lennie Payne. Jordan Payne's dad. They lost in the final four(In a field of 15) to The Dynasty by three pts without starter Travis Combs in the lineup. If they would have won that game they would have played an OBC team with multiple future D1 players on the roster. Ex-Cleveland Cavaliers coach Mike Brown was in attendance to watch the final four on sunday. Overall I think the Bearcat Classic is a great event. Between the three locations(Fifth Third arena, the UC campus rec. center, and Sports Plus in Sharonville) they had close to 20 courts with nearly every age level represented.

Do you remember how Carter, Fletcher and McBee did in the Event?

Tribemaniac10,

No, sorry. I was watching the Royals/Dynasty game and saw them playing on one of the far courts but I couldnt really tell you how they did. The Royals Elite/Riverside Physical Therapy game was loaded with local players though. Dion McKinley(around 10pts), Trevor White(around 6pts), Evan Salyers(about the same as White), two kids from Huntington High, and another gaurd for Portsmouth(cant remember his name) all suited up for RPT; while Jake Daniels(10pts 12rebs???), Jordan Mitchell(double digits in pts) both suited up for the Royals. Two starters for the Royals in Jordan Payne(Eastern Brown's best player) and Travis Combs(First team all state for Manchester) were out for various reasons but they still managed to pull out the two point win. Riverside was the toughest matchup for the Royals through pool play. With their two gaurds out the Royals struggled to break the full court press and a 15pt lead evaporated to 2 by the end of the game.

The Cincinnati Royals Elite won the 5th Annual Todd Bell Classic at the USA Sports Academy in Columbus today. They went undefeated throughout pool and tourny play with Travis Combs(Manchester), Jacob Daniels(Peebles), and Dalton Appleman(Augusta KY) out. All three have started for the team at one point. In the first round of tourny play they met up with a Southern Ohio Magic team loaded with local players. The Royals were a one seed and the Magic were a two seed following pool play.

Does anyone know where the kids on the 9th grade southern ohio magic team are from? I saw some south webster shirts and some wheelersburgh shirts in the crowd. I watched them play in the semi-finals in zville against an outstanding zville area team (they won the pickerington tourny a few weekends ago from what i was told). They lost by over thirty and have to be the dirtiest basketball team I have ever seen play at any level. The game was over at halftime and the officials should have just called the game then. It was bad. The coach did nothing to control it either, they are a perfect example of why aau only benefits kids who have someone that knows what they are doing coaching them.

I will be at the Spiece Run N' Slam this weekend in Fort Wayne. Any local teams other than the Cincy Royals Elite going to be in it? I would assume that All-Ohio Red will be there. They were last year.
