Very sad day. Coach Derrow was ahead of his time. I remember back to days of his original "Hoops Classics" in Batelle Hall in Columbus and what it has grown into. Coach Derrow's players have gotten to travel to the Bahama's, and play against the likes of LeBron James and O. J. Mayo. He had the vision to accomplish these things in our small area of the state where events on this scale did not occur. His players and all basketball fans in Southeastern Ohio benefited from this. His number one priority was always the kids. Always enjoyed our conversations. I'll miss him

Very sad to hear of this news........I talked to Coach Derrow at the Hoops Classic this past season, and he was gracious as always to me.........May God comfort his family in this unexpected time of loss.
