Thoughts... I think this will be a battle.. I like Minford to pull off the upset and start earning some respect in the league again.. In saying that Wavely is a very talented ball club and the Falcons will have to play there best ball to win...

Minford plays solid defense and has room to improve. Waverly has the talent to win every game. Should be a good game to watch.
Making free throws and taking care of the ball wins these games. Minford wins by three with the home court advantage.

McBee ( 17 pts ) finally had some help in double figure scoring last night , two others ( 16 & 13 ), and a fourth player had 9 so if they play as well against Waverly , Minford by 5. Kretzer is the real deal but so far he is the only one getting into double figures for Waverly. White , Kelly and Ward are due so we will see what happens Friday night.

Mcbee is a nice player i really like his game. With that said Kretzer goes off for 35 plus and Waverly wins by 10

I could see Kretzer getting 30 in this game, but Minford wins by 8

With Mcbee on the floor Minford will always have a chance don't count them out.

But I think Waverly will be too much. They will run away with it in the fourth quarter Waverly by 15.

I find it kinda unusual that 3 weeks ago everyone was picking Waverly to finish 2nd in the league. They are 2-1 to this point with a 2 point loss to Ironton yet more than half of you are picking them to lose to Minford. Why the sudden change of heart????

lebasketball,
Probably because no-one one has stepped up to score yet. I really don't think the Waverly guards are going to stay in this scoring funk long. Friday night is the time to get out of it, they are very capable.

This can be a great game or a easy win for waverly. I watched the Ironton game and if Waverly doesn't miss 8-10 bunny shots they win that game my son and I counted 6 in the second quarter alone. Can't see the boys missing those on a consistent basis. But Doc will have his hands full again from Zack Carter to Austin Mcbee tuff row to hoe .

Look for Waverly's best defender to guard McBee.

As for me I had Valley winning the SOC and Waverly 2nd with Minford as high as 3rd. Minford took Valley to double OT and led the entire game til the 2nd OT and should have been a W for them. This Minford team looks like a true contender for the SOC early in the year and is playing some good ball.. I think alot people including me when you think of Minford in basketball is just going to be another average year and be near the bottom of the SOC. But this team is playing with heart and passion and almost with a chip on there shoulder sort of speak. Not taking anything away from Waverly they are a very talented ball club and could win this game in convincing fashion. But with it being at Minford and the way they are playing thats why I chose Minford in a close one.

bballin,

I am not doubting that this could be a great game. I am also not doubting that Minford could beat Waverly if they play like they did at the burg. Waverly was a completely different team through the preseason and foundation game. I am a huge fan of McBee and think he extremely changes the dynamic of this team. With that said if Waverly gets up and down and makes plays in the flow of the game instead of setting up the offense and making 6 passes before a shot i think they run away with it. A double overtime loss to Valley seems like a moral victory but that same Valley team lost to Zane Trace. Zane Trace got beat by Southeastern. Waverly beat Southeastern by 30 plus in the foundation game. I guess that doesn't mean jack in the scheme of things other than the fact that i am really not sold on Valley right now. First year coach with more athletes than basketball players. From what i have seen from valley there hasn't been a lot of discipline. They were jacking up 3's with a 2 minutes left up 9 on Ironton. I just wouldn't hang my hat on that loss as a parameter of where minford is right now.

Kretzer will be too much for the falcons I think. If McBee is on, the falcons are capable of beating anyone.
