Not sure whether losing to Madonna will help or hurt Beallsville in this one. Caldwell will have to play a near perfect game to win this one, but they have been playing better as of late. They need to play smart and the seniors need to step up. Svercek is a big key, as he is really the only pure shooter Caldwell has, and if he's hitting it can really open the lane for guys like Weichman and Hesson. Good luck to the Redskins!

Rather play the Blue Devils then your last year opp Rosecrans.Caldwell must think River is better then Beallsville or they would've picked the Pilots round 1.

Game tonight. First meeting was very entertaining game all the way back in game two. If I remember correctly game was tied at end of every quarter, kid hit two big jumpers for Beallsville in last two minutes and they won something like 65-56 or something. I heard that boy is out with an injury, can't remember his name but he was number 23. I know the Jarrett kid hit some big shots and the Jackson kid was something ridiculous from the free throw line, like 15 of 15 or 16. Wiechman had a huge game for Caldwell that night. Beallsville is a quality team but if Caldwell plays well they have a chance. I think coach felt like River was better despite a few more losses, probably because they played better competition. Caldwell played really well in Hannibal three weeks ago too. Still can not understand why Barnesville chose to go at Rosecrans.....

Beallsville's going to win this one in the fourth quarter with its quickness. That team is relatively deep and should be getting the edge off the boards. The key is Jackson's ability to drive the lane, the board play of Dauch and Bates, and the all-around play of Tyler Spence. That kid could average 25 ppg. I'm thinking something in the 15-16 pt. victory range for Blue Devils.

Listening to this one at work. Caldwell doing decent job, up 28-26 at halftime. Had 5-pt. lead, shot 11-of-23 in first half, lead in rebounds 13-11, but lead in turnovers too. Bates' 10 points for BHS. Anyone want to listen to it online go to

Wish I could, but I didn't get to attend this one. Great win for the Skins though. These are the wins I've been expecting all season. From what I was told, weichman was the high scorer at halftime, so I'm guessing he had 38 for the skins.

Caldwell was up 10 at the end of 3. Beallsville crawled their way back into it with Jackson hitting two game tying free throws with 22 seconds left. Caldwell held the ball up top. With about 8 seconds,Weichman drove to the whole, stepped back and nailed a 3 pointer with 4 seconds left for the game winner. Ended with 35

Congrats to Caldwell, especially the Seniors. Big shout out to Bryian Burson. He put that work ethic and will to win into those seniors and it finally showed even though he isn't with you anymore. Congrats

Made the trip to Belmont to watch my brothers redskins play tonight and am really glad I did. Back and forth first half had Caldwell up 28-26 despite not playing particularly well. Played a terrific third quarter and led by ten heading in to the fourth. Beallsville started running three guys at the ball in the fourth, Caldwell responded by missing 12 (you did read that correctly) layups in the fourth quarter and by going 3-16 from the free throw line in the period. Jackson hits two free throws with 22 seconds on the the clock to tie at 58. Caldwell calls time out, weichman dribbles clock down under 7 seconds at half, flatten out and he hits a step back three with 0.2 seconds on the clock for the win. He finished with 38 but was only 7-14 from the foul line. He also chipped in five steals and 8 assists, had another 8-10 assists blown on missed, uncontested lay-ups. A truly outstanding performance. He and Jackson guarded each other all night and really battled. Jackson didn't miss a free throw and Caldwell needless to say did. This could easily have been a 25 point win had they done the two easiest things on the floor to do but a win is a win. Hesson did a really nice job defending Jarrett, he through in some tough ones in the fourth quarter but he earned everything he got. Great game to watch.

Game was fun to watch.....second year in a row Caldwell has opened with a tournament win. I know I keep saying it but this program is moving in the right direction. They have won 8 or 9 ball games both years now under our coach after we couldn't beat anyone but St. Johns for the previous four years and the program was destroyed. Feeling some success in big games like last night is great for the program. Weichman is phenomenal for a sophomore. He gets the job done offensively pretty much by himself. It is obvious watching from the stands that a few of the seniors (one in particular) is very jealous of his success. Said senior needs to get his priorities straight and do more to help the team, namely pass the ball to the open man and only shoot if it is a wide, and I mean wide open lay up. I don't know what his shooting percentages are this year but if they are over 15% I would be surprised. I know I am not the only one who sees it, the guys calling the game on 104.9 openly talk about it every time they do a Caldwell game.
