I know it's popular to say that it is hard for a team to beat another 3 times in one season, but I don't think that will be an issue in this game. Eastern will be too much for East at the Convo. Eastern by no less than 12...looking forward to a Notre Dame vs Eastern rematch down the road.

I think the big floor really favors Eastern . And hurts the 6'8 Bias kid but who knows . Justin Kreiger is a beast in the open floor as well.

Good Luck Eagles.......Eastern by 15
This has to be (or should be) one of the most favorable routes to the District Finals that I can re-call. Take advantage of it and enjoy the ride boys!

I agree Hoggy, this route very well could produce the first District Title for the Eagles since 1990

As others have said, I think the big floor at the Convo should slow the big kid for East and help the eagles in this one. Bias has killed the Eagles inside this season. Both games played between these 2 teams were very competitive this season(from memory less than 10 point wins for the eagles). I have watched Crager play 4 times this season and he is one of the best athletes around. East should not be taken lightly!
If the Eagles come to play, I say Eagles by 10. Then, the Eagles would get to play for a rare District title. As SOCFAN1430 already said, Eastern hasn't won one since 1990.
good luck Eagles!

I think East might be 1 year away from being a real solid team, aren't Craiger and Bias both juniors? Either way I hope East plays well enough so the Eagles will have to earn the win to prepare them for what is hopefully another showdown with Notre Dame

I watched both East/Eastern matchups this year and both were very competitive...East actually led in the 4th qtr at East and led at the Nest in the 3rd qtr..the Convo floor should favor the Eagles...they need to get out and run,run and run some more. Keep Bias touches in the paint to a minimiun and make Crager a perimeter shooter and i predict a 14 point win for the Eagles.
Lets Go Eagles!!

I agree with all the other posts regarding Eastern being the favorite. If the Eagles aren't shooting well, and the Tartans can make it a half-court game without Bias getting into foul trouble, East could be dangerous. I'll take the Eagles by double-digits as I think they are considerably more talented, but an East upset wouldn't completely shock me either. Best of luck to both teams! Either way, it's a win-win for the SOC!

Re: Eastern Pike(16-5) vs East(9-12) District Semi 3-8
Eastern is too well-rounded to lose this game on this stage at this point in the season. They're the co-league champs for a reason and are battle tested....just for this time of the year. Isn't East the only team left in the SE District with a losing record? Maybe SV too now that I think. Anyway, that wasn't by mistake.
The big floor will certainly be a disadvantage for the Bias kid. I personally think his play and effectiveness has faded some as the season has wore on. The Eastern bigs are mobile enough to get up and down and still strong enough to slow him down a little in the half court.....especially once he gets tired. I think that Crager will have hard time responding to the focus and attention he'll receive from the Eastern D in this big a game. When it comes down to it, I think he is an ok athlete, but Eastern has the better basketball players and I don't think he can overcome that. I've also noticed in a few Tartan games this year that he gets easily frustrated and upset with his teammates.
The supporting cast is a whole different story. The Tartans don't have one. Not sure I can name another kid on their team. Eastern has a big advantage in this department.
All this adds up to Eastern fine tuning some things leading up to a showdown with the Titans on Saturday. Eastern going away in this one....

Well I hope you are correct on the score but I can really see East hanging tough for the 1st half and maybe even for 3 qrts. The balance of the Eagle team will show up in the 4th qtr, look for Chad Lands to showcase the reason he is the best player in the SOC1. The boys from Beaver take this one 61-49 and on to the first District Title game since 2000. Go Eagles!

I hope all of you that are predicting big margins are correct. But, I did use X-factors SOC thread to get the score of the first 2 meetings between these 2 teams. The scores were close.

East almost pulled off the win twice this year vs eagles. Ask NB the rest of that story. Don't feel bad if you can't name any of the other players on our team I can't remember any of your players but Lands either. I look for a slow paced game with spaced out timeouts almost like halftime of the quarters to rest. I am feelin an East victory Saturday !!

I think for east to win this needs to be the case. I just don't know if Craiger and King can play a grind it out offense againt Eastern's "D" . I can see Easterns pressure speeding East up and makeing them play a up tempo game
