Good for Chillicothe and Wilmington........bad for Portsmouth and the SEOAL........now it does look like the SEOAL is in its dying days unless something or somebody can save the league. It took Portsmouth 11 years to get in a league, and now being an independent again soon looks likely for the Trojans.........I STILL WANT THE CAVALIERS ON THE TROJANS SCHEDULE!!

I think all school are trying to get closer teams for more crowds and save on gas. Ptown never takes crowds to away games for it being to far with gas prices. There are enough talented team Trojandave to play around the area.

I agree 14U, about some good teams close to Portsmouth........in basketball, I would love to see us schedule Ashland, Mason County, and Huntington(WV)........Ashland is Portsmouth's 3rd most frequent rival........we've played them 74 times, with the Trojans leading the series 46-28.......the only school to lead the series against Kentucky's all-time winningest program.

Who does the SEOAL go after for a replacement? My guess is a "rehabilitated" Athens. After a few years in the TVC, they have confidence and more importantly numbers back. Plus with the current SEOAL, their longest trip would be Portsmouth. No trips to Ironton, Chillicothe, or Zanesville..which is why they left in the first place.

the scol had to eat some crow taking wilmington back after they left them then snubbed them when they started the league back up. i never thought they would take them back.

What about your Vinton County Vikings? They have the numbers and location. In basketball they would be competitive. Football would need quite a bit of improvement to compete, but the step up in competition might be helpful in taking that step.

I think the SEOAL should go after Vinton, Athens, and Alexander. This would make for good balanced league and with Alexander continually growing and getting closer to D2. I know that will hurt the TVC, but would make for a tough sports league.

I would like to see Athens, Gallipolis, Jackson, Logan, Nelson/York, Portsmouth and Warren

Logan might be the bigger school but they just don't get the numbers out. The numbers that come out for sports is more like a Div III schools

All the schools in Athens County are shrinking in size, as is the case with most of southeastern Ohio. Alexander fell to Division V in football this past year.
