Got a tall class coming in as freshmen this fall. Some sophs and juniors should mix well with the seniors coming back. Too, Portsmouth loses a bunch of seniors and Chillicothe is leaving the league next year. Warren Local should be the league favorite next year with several veterans and the "dean of SEOAL coaches" coming back.

Gallia played alot of good talented senior teams this year . I think that will really help them for next year . Will see if Wes j will be ready as a freshman to help inside game. Williams is talking about returning to the court which could also help. Gallia should be in a better position this coming yearfor a better season.

Should be an interesting year for the Devils. with 5 seniors returning, 4 with significant varsity experience, they should play well throughout the league. Justin Bailey plays great defense and has a solid post game. Cody Call is just an all-around athletic player. Aaron Jackson can shoot the ball relatively well and will have to step up even more than he did this year. Jimmy Clagg is a big man that can get up and down the court and score and defend very well in the post. And Jeremy Wilson, who didn't get much varsity time this year has VERY quick hands on defense. Good luck to the Devils next season!

Haven't heard much of anything on Gallia Academy's summer program. I think they're gonna play games at Jackson this summer, but haven't seen a schedule yet.

Are they gonna have open gym this summer?

Anyway, grandson Jeremy and family are in South Carolina on vacation until June 10.

If anyone has a schedule of events I would appreciate it. Thanks.

I only count 8 games that GAHS was at this summer Week one , didn't think GAHS had a team that played because of football camp , week Two mainly underclass.played. I don't even count that week really but we did
Loose 3. Then 3 close loses and 2 close losses with alot of subs
I think we'll pull it together for a Decent season. Lots of prep time between now and then.

sooo close losses count as almost wins or losses? never won a game in the summer league does that sound better?

Yeah. That is more accurate of a statement . I woulnt take the results of this summer league as to how teams will be this season. It's not even close to real high school basketball More like Gus marker . And with liberal refs . Running clock.

I bet if you look back at how the teams did in the summer league you will find that their season reflects how they did. Why did GAHS even get in the summer league if it didn't mean anything? One thing you count on is people whose team doesn't play well in shoot outs and summer ball saying it doesn't mean anything. WRONG! If a team loses all their summer games it is more than likely going to be a long season. You can make all the excuses in the world and it is not going to change anything. dewdrinker I will bet you a dew that GAHS doesn't finish 500 or above in the regular season.

I think pay to play has hurt Gallia Academy alot. I think this has forced some of the talent there to become one sport athletes. I realize times are tough but I have never been a believer in pay to play. My theory is you actually lose money doing this. For example say you charge one-hundred dollars pay to play per player so a player doesn't play. More than likely if that player would have played his parents would have attended ten home games at five dollars a ticket. There is your hundred dollars, now if his siblings, grand parents or other family attend you actually make more than your one-hundred dollar pay to play money. Not to mention you put a better product on the floor which in turn brings in fans that like to watch good basketball. JMHO

I hope they just get close to .500 after the last few years results . And yes I do believe they will fair better this year than last year . And ..regardless of whether they were missi g key players in Jackson and lost them all . Jmo . I've known to be wrong tho . Will just have to wait and see

Chris Ellcessor was hired by the board Wednesday evening. He will be Moore's varsity assistant. Good choice.

dew! when you don't show up it's called a forfeit ,wouldn't have mattered if they would have played 30 they would not have beat one single team in that league!
