The big kid they have is going to be a force this year. If they spend the summer in the gym who knows what could happen.

Looking at their roster from last year, they should have 5 seniors and 7 juniors, most of which were on varsity last season. I wouldn't call that young.

They'll be lucky to break .500, or even finish in the top tier of the SOC1.

The league is going to be better next year than its been in 4-5 years . Notre Dame, Eastern,Symmes Valley, East are all going to be very good teams and have lots of talent on there teams but the 5-8 I think will be alot weaker than the top 4. So Clay could get a few next year Western very young will start 4 sophmores, Green lost Bruce and the big kid, New Boston lost Horsely. And you guys return some nice kids to build around. And the big kid in the post will be a handful this year .

What kind of size does this kid have? The only time I watched Clay play recently was against Peebles in a scrimmage last summer and I cant seem to remember him. Do you have any info(height, grade, etc.)?

Last year he was a sophmore I think and was about 6'4 built nice probably 200lbs . He ran the floor well a little slow side to side but good hands and seemed really level headed for his age.

Well this year I believe they might have a decent season now trainer retired and we got all of his stupid coaching out of the way there only seniors I see doing anything this year would be Tony Whitt if he recovers and comes back from his torn acl because without him there defense suffered last year and I hear Jacob griffin is coming back as well which can help them if he can keep his mouth shut. There juniors would be mark Shaffer, Levi Evans , and Micheal Schmidt with all these guy they are a good team together I watched these guys in KVM when they all played together and they worked great with coach king.

I feel like they will b decent this year they lost trainer as coach which helps them out more and the only senior I see doing anything would be Tony Whitt if he comes back from suffering an acl tear, he was there main guy that kept the defense moving and he's deffanitly the hardest worker out on that court and Levi Evans for the juniors he's prob one of the best point gaurds I've ever seen. These guys I feel like will b the stars of clay's basketball season.

I've been hearing rumors of there senior Tony Whitt that tore his acl last year may not return. There defense suffered horribly without him anyone know about him playing. I also heard he won't show up for conditioning as well.

They should be a little better this year. Last year they finished last in the league with 2 league wins. This year I'm hearing there's a new coach and a buzz about the team . Hopefully it comes together for them this year.

Saw the boys play this weekend at south point. minus the minor scraps and a little blood shed they hung in there and done pretty well against a bigger more experienced team. i think they will be ok this year. maybe not in the top 2, but not dead last again. really proud of them and hope that have a great season. look forward to watching how they bring it all together.

THIS HAS BEEN A ROUGH START TO A LONG SEASON. BOYS KEEP YOUR HEADS UP AND DON'T GET DOWN ON YOUR SELVES. YOU HAVE WORKED TOGETHER VERY WELL. IT SEEMED LIKE LAST NIGHT FRUSTRATIONS GOT THE BEST OF YOU ALL, BUT IF THERE IS ANYWAY THAT NO MATTER WHAT THE OUT COME OF THE FINAL BUZZER FIND IT IN YOURSELVES TO PICK OUT THE HIGH POINTS OF THE GAME FOR EACH PLAYER AND AND FOCUS ON THAT AND BE POSITIVE AS A WHOLE. YEAH THERE WERE SOME MISTAKES AND FOULS NOT CALLED ON BOTH ENDS, BUT THAT'S NO REASON TO HANG YOUR HEADS AND GIVE UP. YOU EACH BRING A TALENT TO THE FLOOR AND THE GAME THAT WORKS. ONCE YOU GET EVERYTHING BACK TOGETHER AND START WORKING AS ONE UNIT YOU WILL SEE THAT THE PLAYS AND THE GAMES WILL ALL COME OUT TO YOUR FAVOR. NO YOU CAN'T WIN EVERY GAME, BUT YOU CAN WIN A LOT OF YOUR GAMES. THE BEGINNING OF YOUR SEASON YOU WERE FACING SOME TOUGH TEAMS, SO YES, THE SCORES WERE GOING TO BE LOPSIDED, THAT WAS TO BE EXPECTED. BUT WITH THE TEAMS THAT YOU HAVE COMING UP IN THE VERY NEAR FUTURE ARE BEATABLE IF YOU GO INTO IT WITH YOUR HEADS HELD HIGH AND BACKING EACH OTHER THE WAY YOU SHOULD.
FOR EXAMPLE:
EVANS: YOU ARE THE POINT GUARD AND YOU KNOW THE GAME AND THE FLOOR VERY WELL. YOUR BALL HANDLING AND BASKETBALL KNOWLEDGE IS OUTSTANDING. THESE BOYS FEED OFF OF YOU AND YOUR ATTITUDE. IF YOU CANNOT HAVE A POSITIVE ATTITUDE ON THE FLOOR IT NOT ONLY EFFECTS YOUR PLAYING IT EFFECTS THE REST OF THE BOYS. BE A LEADER NOT SOMEONE THAT GIVES UP WHEN THINGS DON'T GO THE WAY YOU THINK THEY SHOULD HAVE WENT. FIND ANOTHER ROUTE. KEEP YOUR ATTITUDE IN CHECK!
WHITT YOU ARE A STRONG, AGGRESSIVE PLAYER. YOU KNOW THE FLOOR AND YOUR STRONG IN TAKING IT TO THE BASKET. KEEP A POSITIVE ATTITUDE AND ENCOURAGING YOUR TEAM MATES. YOU ARE A LEADER. DON'T SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF. KEEP YOUR HEAD ON STRAIGHT.
SCHMIDT YOU ARE A TOWER! YOU HAVE STARTED TO COME TO THE FLOOR WITH A DIFFERENT ATTITUDE, AND CLAY FANS ARE GLAD! WHAT I THINK HAS FINALLY CLICKED IN YOU IS THAT IF YOU DON'T STAND UP TO YOUR FULL POTENTIAL AND BANG BACK YOUR GONNA GET PUSHED AROUND. YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE TO REALIZE THAT THE TEAMS THAT YOU ARE PLAYING ARE WANTING TO DOMINATE THE BIG GUY. YOU ARE A SOFT SPOKEN, EASY GOING ALL AROUND GOOD GUY, SHOW'EM THEY HAVE PICKED THE WRONG BIG GUY TO PICK ON WHEN YOU STEP ON THAT FLOOR!
SARAJLIC (SORRY IF I SPELLED IT WRONG) YOU MY FRIEND HAVE REALLY CAME INTO YOUR OWN! YOU HAVE BECAME THE SECOND OF OUR BIG POST GUYS AND YOUR DOING AN AWESOME JOB ON THIS BEING YOUR FIRST YEAR PLAYING REAL VARSITY MINUTES. DON'T BE SO HARD ON YOURSELF. SO WHAT IF YOU MAKE SOME MISTAKES, YOUR HUMAN, IT HAPPENS. START LOOKING UP THE FLOOR, TRY TO THINK AHEAD OF THE SITUATION AT HAND. BE PREPARED AND READY FOR WHATEVER OR WHOEVER COMES AT YOU. BE STRONG.
SHAFFER WHAT CAN I SAY ABOUT YOU? YOU ARE AN AWESOME BALL PLAYER AND A GREAT SHOOTER, IF YOU WOULD SHOOT! YOU HAVE SO MUCH POTENTIAL AND ATHLETICISM THAT YOU HAVE NOT LET SHOW ON THE FLOOR YET. IVE WATCHED YOU PLAY IN THE PAST AND YOU DONE GREAT. WHAT YOU DON'T REALIZE IS THAT WHEN YOU WALK OUT ONTO THAT FLOOR TO START THE GAME YOU NEED TO COME OUT READY TO BANG IT OUT WITH THE BIG GUYS AND BE MORE AGGRESSIVE! YOUR AS GOOD IF NOT BETTER THAN THE BOY YOUR GUARDING, WE CAN ALL SEE THAT, THE ONLY ONE THAT NEEDS REMINDED IS YOU! LET YOUR CONFIDENCE BE NOT ONLY SEEN BUT FELT!
PELPREY, CROISER, LAVALLEY, PHILLIPS, PHIPPS, YOU BOYS HAVE REALLY BROUGHT IT ALL TOGETHER.
PHILLIPS, YOU STEPPED UP IN THE TEAMS TIME OF NEED. YOU'VE DONE A GREAT JOB!
PELPREY, YOU HAVE REALLY DONE AN AMAZING JOB THIS SEASON. I FEEL LIKE YOU IMPROVE WITH EVERY GAME THAT I'VE SEEN YOU PLAY.
CROSIER, YOU ARE A STRONG, STRONG PLAYER. I'VE WATCHED YOU GET IN THERE AND BANG WITH THE BEST OF THEM AND MAKE THEM BACK DOWN LIKE NO OTHER! BE STRONG GOING UNDER THE BASKET, DON'T BACK DOWN. SHOW THOSE PLAYERS THEY PICKED THE WRONG PLAYER TO TRY AND PUSH AROUND.
PHIPPS, YOU HAVE REALLY DONE GREAT THIS FIRST PART OF THE SEASON, HAVING NEVER PLAYED VARSITY HOURS BEFORE YOU HAVE HANDLED THE PRESSURE VERY WELL. LOOK FORWARD TO WATCHING YOU IN THE NEXT SEASON. YOUR DOING GREAT!
LAVALLEY, YOU ARE A ROCK. YOU ARE A GREAT ASSIST TO THIS TEAM. YOUR ATTITUDE IS INFECTIOUS AND POSITIVE. SOMETHING THAT EACH AND EVERYONE OF THESE BOYS NEED. YOU ARE AN EXCELLENT EXAMPLE OF WHERE A POSITIVE ATTITUDE AND DETERMINED ATTITUDE WILL GET YOU. YOU ARE UPBEAT AND INSPIRING NO MATTER WHAT THE OUTCOME OF EACH GAME IS. YOU POINT OUT THE GOOD POINTS AND THE AWESOME PLAYS OF EACH OF YOUR TEAM MATES. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.
IM SORRY IF I OFFEND ANY OF YOU BOYS, BUT I JUST FEEL LIKE THESE FEW WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT MAY HELP YOU GET OVER THIS SLUMP THAT YOU ARE FIGHTING TO GET OUT OF. IM NOT TRYING TO SAY I KNOW WHATS BEST FOR EACH OF YOU, THIS IS JUST WHAT I HAVE OBSERVED FROM WATCHING YOU BOYS PLAY THROUGHOUT THE YEARS. YOU ARE A VERY TALENTED TEAM THAT LOOKS LIKE THEY HAVE LOST THE WAY AND IM HOPING THAT YOU REALIZE THAT YOU FAN BASE IS BEHIND YOU. AND JUST A REMINDER THE LITTLE ONES THAT COME AND SIT IN THE SAME SPOT THAT YOU SAT IN NOT TO LONG AGO AND WATCHED YOUR FAVORITE CLAY PLAYER ON THE FLOOR PLAY THEIR HEART OUT JUST LIKE YOUR DOING NOW, YOU ARE NOW THEIR HEROS AND FAVORITE PLAYER OF ALL TIME. TAKE MINUTE TO ACKNOWLEDGE THEM. GOOD LUCK BOYS, I KNOW YOU'LL DO GREAT!
